I have GTA and a DSi. The text size is pretty good, I haven't been unable to read it so far. I don't know how much of an imrpovement it is from the lite, but the text size is alright on the DSi.

I went and got the DSI, and the change in screen size was just enough to make the text comfortable for me :). Worth the money for me! Thanks for the advice!

I got a new DSI today to play GTA Chinatown Wars. But when the radio is on, there is a swooshing noise audible in the background, pretty much as from a older, crappy radio (I really hope it's not a feature in the game :=) ). Its annoying at higher volumes. I went to change my DSI, thinking it was the problem, and the clerk agreed it was an annoying sound and gave me a new machine. But the new DSI has the same issue. I bought the game factory sealed at a respectable store, so it's (likely) not a pirated copy.

Does anyone else have this issue with Chinatown Wars on the DSI?

Other sounds in the game seem fine, even great, and the sound in other games also sound ok.

I think the text in Chrono trigger and GTA: Chinatown wars is too small for comfort. I have a DS Lite, and I was wondering if there is anyone who switched to the DSI specifically to get a better screen, and can tell me about the difference. Did it help for the text size? I hate the shorter battery time, and there I'll lose around 100$ if I sell the DS Lite to buy a DSI. But I could really use larger text size. Please advice!

Thanks for the replies. I got a DS Lite today, and the game "The world ends with you". Just got through the introduction, and I love both the game and the machine. /hcman

No? But there is crisis core, and I hear you can now buy and download the original ff vii to play on the psp. Both those titles are interesting to me. On the ds, I know there is ff iv and iii, as well as chrono trigger, but although I haven't played any of them through on snes, I'm afraid that they will have too many repetitive fights. Especially ff iii had that in my opinion (at least as far as I played).

Oops, I'm not that rich :). I just meant the the difference in price between a ds lite and a psp 3000 is not an issue.

I wanna play rpgs on a handheld, and can't decide whether to go for nintendo ds or psp. Some loves and hates: I don't like it when there are looong movie sequences like in ff x on ps2. And I don't like it when the game is overly simple or munchkin looking, but I don't have time for old-school super hard games either. I hear the loading times on psp can be very long, but is this still so on the psp 3000? Are the loading times shorter when running a game from a memory stick? I prefer direct fightng to turn-based fighting. Money is not a problem. Please help me choose!
