also SE has grossed and is worth more than Capcom and Sega. look it up
headbanger1186's forum posts
Which brings up another point for me. SE wouldnt really be getting ripped off in the whole deal. Take a look at lesser grossing companies that could use the money as well doing the same. I'm sure people didn't complain when Sega released their Ultimate Genesis Collection with over 40 games and charged 29.99 for it. Sega made less than a dollar a game for that. Or when Capcom decided to release a complete Mega Man Compilation for 19.99 which they would have made way more selling individually. I just have to say that each of those respected titles are being RE-released, so they have already grossed millions etc from them and will still make millions by doing a service to the fans!
I completely agree, most of what that guy you were referring to was making statements merely on opinion. It is kinda sad though, I see where RPGs are taking a turn for. The last excellent TB RPG I played was Lost Odyssey, which had Sakaguchi behind it, and Uematsu providing music, So of course it was delivered flawlessly to me :)Japanese RPGs do not need to be changed. I would much rather have a turn based rpg over an action rpg. I treasure FF 7, 8, 9 and 10. Also, 8 was not too difficult by any means. Not all of them are based on princesses. FF 7, 8 and 10 had nothing to do with kindoms or princesses. I would love to see maybe a couple of box sets come out like ff 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, and 10 10-2 and 12 in a pack. 3 packs could be priced better and like others said gives some choice.

and once again when i said they don't make money from titles i was referring to the ps ones and a few others since they are no longer in print of course

I would be much more satisfied as a consumer to even bay as high as 80 for something like that
Jaysonguy
Wait, you'd want them all for 80 dollars?
So you'd be satisfied if you were ripping them off?
No, you just misunderstood. Considering besides the digital download for the PSN as far as playstaion consoles goes they aren't pulling in any money or revenues for those titles through playstation besides ff7 that they released. And it was an idea, which they could see it as a service to the fans to release an entire compilation and charging 20 dollars above regular new PS3 title. But instead, i will have to sit back and see that I would at least fork out 120 dollars minimum if they released them all as DD. No I never stated that I would love to rip them off, I had owned all these titles at one point and time and it would save me HDD space considering FF 7 was 1.3 GB. They do not make money from titles like FF7 except from DD, because when a game store sells one used the profits go straight to the seller. Just don't make me come off as sounding like a greedy and careless person thanks.Yeah i was definitely a psone guy. But if they charged a reg price 59.99 I would jump at it and would be endless gameplay for me but yeah i guess that would be asking too much i just dont really understand :(
Ok, I know this may have possibly been posted before, but I have not found it and it needs to be at least addressed again. I gind myslef growing ill of only seeing one psone game being released a week on PSN. Don't get me wrong FF7 was my dream come true when they released it in June. I just have been studying my blue ray discs etc since i just got a ps3 and have been pondering... Why can't they do it? Blue ray is the most superior disc form media i have ever seen and they would have no problem transferring FF1-12 (with the exception of 11) on to a blue ray or two if they had to.
Which arises a couple of questions...is it just because they want more money and could get their money betterby releasing the psone format for 9.99 a pop, and digital versions of the ps2 for 14.99 or 19.99 a pop? I would be much more satisfied as a consumer to even bay as high as 80 for something like that. Or is it due to alot of developers still afraid of taking that gamble for the ps3 leap? I know its expensive to develop I'm just thinking too much today.
But I would respect SE so much for a Final Fantasy: The Complete Collection release, and I personally think it would sell millions!
Suikoden I dont think is on UK PSN store but really thats a given that sweet F.A is on the UK store. I look at the lists and think we (uk) will never see them. Ever. Maybe 2015. :| InsultToInjury_AGH I didnt think about that...Idk what is up with the country specific releases..especially since japan already has Xenogears on PSN, I mean c'mon im sure it would kill with downloads in UK and America! look at FF 7 it topped 100,000 last time i looked and i was one of that number :)
LOL your list was almost identical to mine :) hey Suikoden 1 is already available for PSN download! I have played it so many times... ahh nostalgiaI'd love to have a port of these games:
1. Final Fantasy VIII
2. Final Fantasy IX
3. Legend of Legaia
4. Chrono Trigger (with updated graphics and CG movies :D)
5. Breath of Fire 4 (with new transformations and updated graphics too)
6. Brave Fencer Musashi (hmmm, this could be a great RPG hit for the PSP if it ever is ported ^_^.)
7. Suikoden 1 or 2 (nah, I don't need updated graphics :D, they're good already, hehe)
8. Legend of Mana (I missed a lot of quests before when I finished it xD)
Yeah, most of those games are made by square... I'm a big fan of them :D.
*thinks* Hey! How bout Pokemon? LoL! Just kidding :D.
