Well it has been a long time as far as blog entries are concerned. I really can not emphasize how much gaming in the next gen era has pleased me and hurt me. For instance there is virtually no good rpgs for sony's ps3, which brings me to my next rant about how there are wayyyy too many first person shooters. I find myself going to a vidoe game store and looking at older titles rather than new titles purely because of the reason i gave in my previous sentence along with the lack of game time hours being severly lacking. Don't get me wrong i luved bioshock, call of duty 4 and uncharted but it seems that developers are too conservative or should i say pessimistic with the outcome of thier games that they only develop it to last 8-12 hours! Maybe I'm just too impatient with the whole we have to research this and research that to make games more profitable again, but if i have to buy 3 different systems just to play games that piqued my interest.
Basically what it boils down to is there is no variety on just 1 system anymore, but alas I will have to say that it is nice to see rythm games finally taking off as I am a avid musician and music lover. Rock band is most definitely the most fun i have had in ages, probably not since playing ff7 and playing my n64 which I still play often. My other crutch that fixes my need for rpgs is world of warcraft which is an amazing and huge game in case of those who are on the fence about having to pay for an incurring monthly cost to play a game you have already bought. All in all I guess I can wait a few years to see what finally becomes of these systems, and thats my 2 cents.
