I've done it again

I know I know. Why aren't you playing Zelda.

Cause I bought Rayman Raving Rabids and Elebits.

Rayman is simply a fantastic way to pass the time alone or with friends. Fantastic party game. Several friends came by last night and could not keep their hands off of it.

Elebits is not completely absorbing. It is, though, unlike anything else I've played in recent years. The hide and seek aspects are quite fun. The level design is pretty good also. Numerous hidden objects, secrets, and doors keep the flow going pretty well. The story is not really there, and I hate that. However, the gameplay makes up for it.

Will I ever finish Downhill Jam? I don't know. I have three levels left to complete, and man oh man are they difficult. One of the final slalom levels has 64 gates and only gives you 4 seconds on the clock right off. If you miss the first 4 gates you are screwed.

Wii!!

Ok I've gone crazy. Nintendo is absolutely blowing me away this time around.

Legend of Zelda, Wii Sports, Excite Truck, Red Steel, and now Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam.

I have to say one thing. The controls are what hook you. I haven't found a single Wii game yet that I don't quickly adapt to as a result of the great implementation of the Wii Remote. It's as if a piece of my arm has been missing all these years while gaming.

My last purchase was Downhill Jam. Just picked it up today. Yes it does lack some of the finesse of the other Tony Hawk games. One might even venture to say it is "unpolished" and lacking complete "refinement."

However, as it is the first Tony Hawk game to attempt something quite like this, should we not judge it as we would judge the original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater? Downhill Jam is quite different than the normal Tony Hawk games, and I have to say(after suffering through American Wasteland, and Project 8, though a definite improvement) it's quite refreshing and enjoyable.

Excite Truck is a great arcade racing game. The bad reviews are people not giving that one simple fact much consideration. Controls are tight, easy to learn, and fun to use. Music is bearable though you can have a custom soundtrack if you wish (hooray).

Poor RedSteel. Everyone has bad things to say about you, and I feel like I have to point out some things people may not be thinking about.

1. Door Opening. "Door opening is a chore." Remember, there are few buttons on the Wii Remote. Yes they could have made it button 1 or 2, BUT why not just simply step up to the door and quick flick your wrist. Seems easy to me. Quite an intelligent decision also.

2. Story is horrible. Yes, but it's an FPS. Personally, I was more worried with the horrible injustice done to bilingual Japanese Americans. Please work on the voice acting. The story is fine. Straightforward and simple.

3. Difficulty with no difficulty adjustment. Must be from "children." Us old timers had no choice of our gaming difficulty level. Practice makes perfect. Think before you act. Use cover when possible.

I can so nothing which has not been said already about Wii Sports and Twilight Princess, but I will say "Thank you. Amazing work Nintendo."

Thanks Nintendo. For coming back to greatness. The old-school gamers have missed you.

Finally, my Oblivion post.

Ok, I have to say this. Quite simply, Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, is the best RPG I've ever played. I did not think it would be this immersive or amazing, but it is. It may possibly be the best game I've ever played. I've run through the game twice now, and there are still LOTS of things I would like to go back and do. Third time is a charm. My first time through, I made an assassin who ended up not even playing through the assassin quests. Second time, a warrior who made Fighter Guild Champion. Third time? I'm taking my time. This guy is a custom class. I've made Imperial Champion. I'm almost the Figher's Guild Champion, and I'm working towards making it into the Arcane University! The actual storyline quest is quite awesome too. Thank God for Bethesda.

I also bothered to pick up TitanQuest and Heroes of Might and Magic 5 my last time out to the gameshop the other day. Titanquest sorta sucks right now, since it crashes every 15 minutes, but I will say I made it to level 8 and its "interesting" at best. I haven't even bothered to play heroes yet,..

Anyone pick up New Super Mario Bros? I hear its phenomenal.

I'm too cool to post!

Completely inactive?

Not really. Just busy.

I've taken a position as Senior Network Administrator with my company. Just bumped myself into the 120K+ range. I'm getting married this Friday! (March 31st 2006)

Gaming? Only when I have time. I've mostly been playing Quake 3 and Quake 4 DM.I think I logged into Guild Wars once last week got bombarded by my guild to hit up some PVP. So, after taking Hall of Heroes I finally got to play my poor little newbie Elementalist Ranger. I'll have to say, the class is fascinating. Can't wait for Serpent's quickness/Mist Form combo. Muahahaha...

I've actually played Animal Crossing recently, and I have to say I'm intrigued. My nephew let me run around using his saved game and its actually quite fun, but it does take an hour or so to really get "moving" in game.

Just found out about a new Warhammer Fantasy RTS from Namco. Isn't that strange?

I've gotten tired of PvP

Ok, I'm officially bored with Guild War's PvP system.

Back to good ole PvE.
Went farming in Sorrow's Furnace today with a few friends.

4 green drops later I'm 220K Plat richer.

w00t.
