To be frank, idiots a rather harsh word, pretend I said N00b :) I'll admit, I think myself that there is no winner, only losers, those who go out of buisness, but sony have a very interesting plan where they can slowly replace the PS2, rather thank yank the rug from under our feet...
Hahaha, what an idiot, the market isn't between the PS3, 360 and wii, its for the PS2 aswell, and apparantly the PS2 outsold all 3 next gen consoles, so here's how things will work: 1) Sony go about selling lots of PS2s and PS2 games while no xboxs or gamecubes get sold 2) As people liken towards the next generation, they choose the only one with HD support which matches their TVs, which can play the next generation's HD discs(BD) and actually play games up to 50 GB in size off a disk 3) The xbox 360, which was good, has become old and incompatible 4) The players of 360s decide that the next M$ console is not worth it Meanwhile... accidents caused by wii have increased 10-fold
Errr, does noone here know that you can replace the hard drive already in your PS3 with any other laptop SATA hard drive, its not difficult for them just to update the hard drives considering that how suddenly the really big ones (200 GB +) are getting really cheap... All they'd be doing would be improving the console to keep the standard to the price...
Its the thing that stands out the most about it to me, how it looks, the touch-pad buttons how amazingly quiet it is. the silver trim, how every thing fits just right. Does this stand out to any one else? Just wondering :P

I felt the same way about the PS1 and PS2 but the both died more than once. I think i had about 3 or 4 PS1s then i had to play the games with the console upside down. :O I had my PS2 for 6 years and never had one problem with it. But anyways, I also think that the PS3 looks and feels very solid. Just with its appearance it seems to say "yep, I'm worth every penny". And I agree: best looking system this generation. Had my PSX since atleast 97, always worked great. My PS2 since 01 only one problem but allI had to do was clean the lens... As far as hardware goes, PS3 is undoubtedly unbeaten, the reflective black and silver trim is a perfect design, reminds me of a car. Something I really didn't expect was the SIXAXIS, the bizzare way it seems oblique, yet when the light is at just the right angle you can see inside, DualShocks have always been clumsy, it fits perfectly in your hands...
