I think this is a really good question actually. Especially for me. I just switched from an Xbox 360 to a PS3. So far, so good. I love the increased hard drive space available without a premium price. I had a 360 Pro with the 20GB HD and to get a 120GB HD like on the PS3, I would have had to either buy an Elite or a 120GB Microsoft Drive for $125. I thought that a little silly just because for $125 (or less) I could buy at least a 1TB hard drive. Also, the PS3 online gaming experience (for me, at least) seems to be streamlined enough and I find games on Modern Warfare 2 within a minute or so, where as I would sit for as much as 15 minutes or more on Xbox Live waiting on a game (Free for All; Team Deathmatch was usually quicker, but not by much). Another aspect of the PS3 online service that I really enjoy is that it is free. I'm a huge movie buff and the PS3 offers (obviously) BluRay. A big bonus for me as I do love things in HD and I was recently in the market for a BluRay Player, but found that there wasn't much on the underside of the $200 range. For a little extra money, why not have a PS3, right? I'm not so fond of the controller, but I suppose that's because I was very used to the Xbox 360 controller and with time, I'm sure I'll learn to enjoy the PS3 controller. Don't get me wrong, it's not hard to use or uncomfortable by any stretch, but I was more familiar with the Xbox layout (naturally). I think the PS3 has a lot more room for growth and will carry on for several more years, where the 360 has sort of reached its peak (multi disks on certain games, not full HD on most games). All around, a great purchase for me and I'd recommend it to other gamers not interested in exclusive titles for the 360 (which, in my opinion is a stupid reason to buy any system as the exclusive titles are often few and far between).

[QUOTE="clicketyclick"] So the question is, why did they cover up some and not others? Why were others left uncovered? Is there some pattern you can see? Clearly: the men were covered, the women weren't. In other words, the whole "it was necessary for the story" or "it enhanced immersion" explanations are completely bs. It was a cynical marketing move and has no more depth and artistry to it than those neon signs outside strip clubs advertising "XXX nude girls!"Chickan_117

There is a socially acceptable level of nudity. Bums and boobs are fine (yes, don't forget you see Ethan's couch warmer within the first few minutes of playing).

It wasn't strictly necessary for the story telling but IMO it was definitely essential for the atmosphere of the game and the immersion in the story. It's in most movies and TV shows you see (even saw full frontal in Weeds the other night which was surprising) so why not games?

You're entitled to your opinion of course but I'm amazed at how strongly everyone feels that this was an issue. I didn't really notice it when playing and it was only when I came on here afterwards that I noticed so many people were against it.

Amazing. We can make a computer game about drowning little boys and torturing/killing Fathers and we have a problem with a couple of boobies and some bottoms being shown! lol.

I'm kind of with Chickan_117 on this one. I can do with it or without it. Either way I don't really care. I mean, it's a video game, right? Don't like it? Don't play the game. Don't like seeing nudity on TV? Watch Nickelodeon (although I found some of the humor in Rugrats, Ren 'n Stimpy and AAAAAAHHH! Real Monsters to be crude and borderline offensive, but, luckily enough for the creators, the kids watching it never got the innuendos). It's over-hyped and people are making a big deal out of nothing. Boobs. There, I said it. Move along folks. Nothing to see here...

I'd have to go with COD MW2 if it were me. The online has smaller matches, but you get a lot more options as far as gameplay is concerned (Capture the Flag, as you mentioned; Free for All, Team Deathmatch, etc.). Sure, there are hackers and sure, they cheat and killboost and all that garbage, but just play it and take it for what it is and if you get in a situation where someone's cheating, just call 'em out on it and leave the game. There are PLENTY of games out there so you're sure to get matched up with another one. MW2 for sure on this one.

[QUOTE="positivebalance"]

March 26 it starts apparently. so we'll like be able to buy ACII for $30?

BPoole96

Amazon has Assassin's Creed 2 for $35 right now. I just ordered it

Well, unless you got free shipping you didn't really get a great deal at all. GameStop has it for $29.99 and if you use store credit they don't charge you tax. Even if you do have to pay tax on it, it would only be about $3 or less so you still overpaid by a couple bucks. No worry, I'm sure as it's apparently a great game. $32 vs. $35 isn't a deal breaker for any game in my opinion.

I actually just got a PS3 a couple of days ago (finally found on on eBay since I couldn't find one locally for weeks) so I picked up Metal Gear Solid 4, Call of Duty: World at War & Modern Warfare 2 and I've got Assassin's Creed 2 and Fallout 3 on hold at a store a little further from my house since the one closest to me was out of them already. I'll go pick them up tomorrow. I mean, I got 5 great games (in my opinion) for right around $150. Not a bad deal. I would like to have seen Uncharted 2, Little Big Planet and/or Borderlands on the table as well. I had Borderlands for 360, but most of my friends are on PS3 and I'd like to pick it up for a little online multiplayer. Alas, it is what it is. We all know how GameStop is about making money. Just roll with it and get what you can when you can. They'll knock the prices of some of the other ones down this summer I bet, and probably again in the fall a few months before Christmas season. It's how they do. Gotta boost sales when sales are down and this is the down period for a lot of retailers. Hell, I got such a good deal on the 5 I picked up (3 actually, 2 more tomorrow) that I bought Heavy Rain and Just Cause 2 because I had some cash left over. It's a good way to get people into the store to buy stuff (on sale, or not).
