After much deliberation whether or not I should get a hand-held console, I finally decided that I would get the Nintendo DS. Oh before that I was also debating which one to get, the famous PSP or the one with the "touching is good" ad. Well, Nintendo won that battle.
I'm not very familiar with the nintendo games, let alone the nintendo community here at gamespot. But I had to know which games to get, which ones have replay value, or which ones suck major anus. So I had to ask. I posted a couple of threads here and there, waited for their response, opinions, comments and other sh*t and giggles. For instance, "What should be my first game for my nintendo DS", I asked. "Get Kirby and wait for Advance Wars or Nintendogs," someone said. "Kirby or Meteos and your answer would have been perfect" argued another. "Import JUMP Superstars & Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan until the good stuff comes out," another person said. Based on the majority votes that day, Kirby was winning. So I was leaning towards getting Kirby but then this person said, "I recently bought Kirby: Canvas Curse, its a very good game, but if you want a game that lasts a while, I wouldn't recommend this. It does have alot of fun and interesting mini-games and you can also get extra characters, but the game itself doesn't last that long. If you are not into importing games, then I'd tell you to get Meteos and Warioware." Meteos seems to be leading now. The community likes the game and it does have a high rating. "Get Meteos if you like puzzle games," another nintendo owner said. Well, I do like puzzle games I say to myself, but the idea of launching blocks doesn't appeal to me that much so that's still a question mark. I played the demo of Warioware at the nearby Target and liked it. I was also considering getting Warioware Touched! until I stumbled upon the gamespot's review of the game. They gave it a 7.3 (or something I don't remember). And then I saw this game called "Feel the Magic XX/XY". It's very similar to WWT!, only sexier. "Is Feel the Magic XX/XY available here in the US? It's a little bit similar to warioware touched! isnt it?" I asked. "Yes it is available. It's not a very good game, i'd not recommend you to get it." someone answered. "Ok," I told myself.
After a couple of days, someone mentioned the Nintendo DS is going to have a price drop of $20 and will in effect on the 21st. "I will wait til next week to get my ds," I promised myself. Another person agreed with me and recommended that I should get Advance Wars and/or Nintendogs along with it. But on Sunday, after church, my dad and I went to Best Buy and there it was, shiny and on display, the precious Nintendo DS. It was blue and there were scratches and fingerprints all over the touchscreen, probably done by the idiot kids who were scratching the touch screen with house keys like it has fleas. "Excuse me," I asked the guy at the game department "May I see the blue and the white Nintendo DS?" He was nice, he showed them to me though he never let me hold them lest I runaway with the loot. During this time period my mind was going "Don't get it yet you idiot, wait for the price drop," so I said, "ok then, I will wait." I stared at the glorious DS for almost 10 minutes, picturing myself playing with both of them. The guy then asked me "Are you going to get white one or the blue one?" growing impatient. I said, "I think I will get the blue one," then I said "thank you for showing me the DS'" I was polite. "AHH Idiot," my mind said.
Now it was time for me to get a game to play on my newly bought DS. Right away I saw Meteos, Kirby, Warioware, and Feel the Magic. I was trying to recall all of the recommendations, but failed. I grabbed "Feel the Magic", paid for it, then left.
The game is fun for a couple of hours then it becomes repetitive and dull. .....To be continued
