New GPU... RTX 2080

I've been running GTX 980Ti SLI for a couple of years now. I think. Decided it was time for an upgrade.

I must say, I really wanted the RTX 2080Ti, but nVidia priced that one out of my range. Honestly the price is ridiculous. Seems like what used to be Titan, is now just their top tier. Both in performance and price point.

Anyway the RTX 2080 equals 1080Ti I think, which again matched 980Ti SLI I believe. More or less. For me it means I get quite a lot more performance in most games, except those that had nearly perfect scaling with SLI. At less than half the previous power consumption, equaling much less heat to get rid off. :D

Enjoy it, less heat and less PSU power as you've said.

The two 980Ti should be equal in performance to that 2080 of yours and maybe your 2080 is a bit stronger but then again you won't have any SLI issues, waiting for SLI driver update and all that SLI none sense.

Also you can now enjoy the 2 new technologies (RTX and the fps boost AI thingy)

@PredatorRules: I'll test ray-tracing, but given the extreme performance hit so far, I don't think it will be more than testing.

@horgen: you can lower other graphic settings you don't like, besides I bet some other indie titles that aren't triple A titles will perform much better.

So far all RTX footage was with triple A titles and that's obvious, most probably shot with 2080Ti none the less.

@PredatorRules: I'll definitely play around with the settings. However it is quite a jump from 1080 to 3440*1440. Given how new it is, I hope driver improvements alone can give quite a boost in performance over the next 6 months or so.
