I think what the reviewer failed to see is that GTA can be cosidered a Satire of the modern society, and the definition of satire is:
A genre in which follies, abuses, and shortcomings are held up to ridicule, with the intent of shaming individuals and society itself, into improvement. Although satire is usually meant to be funny, its greater purpose is often constructive social criticism, using wit as a tool to draw attention to both particular and wider issues in society.
So, in that case the fact that in all the GTAs up until now woman are mistreated is a good thing because it makes us think about real issues in our society.
Shal we define Satire now, just in case you missed my point:
is a genre of literature, and sometimes graphic and performing arts, in which vices, follies, abuses, and shortcomings are held up to ridicule, ideally with the intent of shaming individuals, corporations, and society itself, into improvement. Although satire is usually meant to be funny, its greater purpose is often constructive social criticism, using wit as a weapon and as a tool to draw attention to both particular and wider issues in society.
So the fact that GTA V, as a satire of moder life, has misogyni as a theme should be considered a good thing.
While I do understand your point, the problem is that she is mixing her personal views with her profficional job, and that usually don't end up well, specially if you work for such a big site as Gamespot.
If it were her personal blog it would be ok, but this is gamespot, and she is speaking for the site, also, the problem is not the score , but about the topics that the reviewer raised that should not be relevant for a game that is a satire of the modern life.
