My L.A Noire experience

So I just finished this game, and I'm going to go ahead and tell you guys that it is one of the best games I've had the privilege of playing. L.A Noire is like nothing I've ever played before, so there's really no game that I can compare it to. I think that's what makes it so special. Sure, you can drive around in an open city like a GTA game, and you can steal cars, but that's not even the point of the game. It's different, it's unique, and it is a game I will never forget.

This game did a fantastic job of making me feel like a real detective. Sure, some of it was kinda boring and a bit repetitive, but being a detective isn't always exciting and glamorous as Hollywood leads us to believe. This game is about the experience, take that as you will. It won't amaze in the gameplay department, but it offers a great new concept, with memorable characters, revolutionary facial animations, great voice acting, and a great story. Having said that, the game gave me some great shootout sequences, and a lot high speed chases, some of it on foot. They all feel really well done, and made me feel like I was in an old movie.

L.A Noire made me think, and required my full attention. Every piece of information and clue is vital to the case that I am trying to solve. I can understand why this might not appeal to a lot of people. The amount of detail the put on this game is off the charts. Los Angeles in the 1940's looks incredible. As a Los Angeles resident myself, I loved driving around my city in an era I have always been intrigued by. This game might not be for everybody, but nobody can deny that it's a game of quality.
