Hugo is a award winning VFX Supervisor and Art Director working in the industry since 1999. After finishing his Masters in Visual Arts has have been working in Portugal, Sweden and the UK as a Director, Onset Visual Effects Supervisor, Project lead, Art Director, Nuke Compositor, VFX teacher, Consultant and Pipeline Architect for Visual Effects.
Hugo also been very active being a teacher and lecturer of Visual Effects, making many talks, tutorials and keynotes for The Mill, FXPHD, The Foundry, NFTS, Campus i12 and Escape Studios all over the world including Russia, Brazil, India, Portugal, Sweden, France, Netherlands, UK, Poland, Among others.
Hugo is a member of the Visual Effects Society and part of the advisory board for both the NFTS and Escape Studios.
His clients, include; Fire Without Smoke, The Mill, Nexus Productions, JellyFish Pictures, Atomic Arts. (among others)
In 2010 he joined The Mill as a VFX Supervisor and Head of the Nuke Department. Over that time Hugo has a Lead Artist, Onset Supervisor and managed large teams in more then 100 productions like the Bodycount Game Trailer, Rainbow Six Game Trailer, the VES awarded Audi ‘Hummingbird’, IKEA ‘Gnomes’, BBC Digital Radio D-Love campaign, Cif ‘Sleeping Beauty’, Nike Zlatan, Adidas Battle-pack among many other including the Call of Duty ‘Ghosts’ in-game cinematics and the latest BBC Music “God only Knows”.
Since 2014, Hugo has been Working very closely with Fire Without Smoke, a agency specialised in VideoGames marketing, He just finishing working as a Cinematic Director in the latest Trailers for the AAA game Just Cause 3 from Square Enix and for the IOS smash hit Rival Kingdoms from Space Ape.
