i thought it was genius marketing. game like this cant have huge ad budget. so there was little advertising. and a lot of nutso bonkers videos that got the nmh fans psyched for it. yes many were ridiculous w bad quality and awful effects - but many were the coolest things ive seen to advertise a product ever (those dev vids?? that launch trailer?? the heavy breathing video??) and all of it made me remember what i love about nmh, a game btw that haters say is ridiculous w bad quality and awful effects!! i dunno, at least among my friends, the vids absolutely stoked interest in the game that normal advertising wouldnt have.
if their idea is to attract potential buyers, then they failed. ads aren't made to make the fans that will already buy the game like. ads are for people who don't know about the game to see how it is. ads are made to attract people. the NMH2 ads definitely didn't do a thing to help.i thought gspot got the worst of the vids. lotta great ones on other sites. u see them all? i thought it stirred up awareness. when you get articles like this one that says nmh2's launch trailer kicks me2s launch trailers ass and represents why nmh2 is a more respectable game than me2, then you get the attention of people who would have never ever tuned into this game otherwise: http://www.destructoid.com/no-more-heroes-2-launch-vid-mass-effect-2-launch-vid-161230.phtml
