BOURDAIS DENIES DOUBTS ABOUT F1 FUTURE

Sebastien Bourdais has rubbished reports that the German Grand Prix will be his last for Scuderia Toro Rosso.

Reports in the French media claimed that the 30-year would be dropped after this weekend's race at the Nurburgring in favour of a Red Bull junior - possibly new reserve driver Jaime Alguersuari.

But Bourdais dismissed reports as "rumour" and that there had been no discussions with the team on the subject.

"This rumour has been around since the middle of last season," Bourdais told AUTOSPORT. "What can I say? I haven't received any notice from the team that this is my last race so as far as I am concerned it is still a rumour.

"I've got a job to do and that's what I've got to concentrate on. I can't control what people say or where it is coming from.

"It's very unfortunate but there's nothing we can do about it. Someone puts it out and now it is all over the place."

Bourdais, who has scored points twice so far this season, added that he had a contract to complete the season with Toro Rosso and that he has no plans to drop out of F1.

"I've got a contract to do all of the races and that's what I'm planning to do," he said. "The only thing I can say is that I am in the car and that's all that matters."

Bourdais should be fired. He has not done much either year.

Honda needs more than Rubens. They need better cars.

Hi I'm aces or you can call me Andre. I'll be 23 in a couple of months. I live in the U.S. I've been a member of this union for 6 months now. I've been watching F1 for a couple of years off and on and would watch it more if there was some more action like passing and not just in the pits. That's why I'm more of a NASCAR fan currently. Alonso would be my favorite driver right now. I do not like Ferrari and M. Schumacher due to their cheating ways and team orders. I do take some flak for it but I don't care. I do look forward to next season where I think there will be a lot more parody in the series.

He is being smart. He wants to get more testing under his belt. He doesn't want to cause an accident that might take out Alonso or Schumacher.

You could have the world's best driver and put him in a car that isn't set up well and he will not win. Jenson's car must be better this year or he won't come close to winning the title.

it would be good for him to experience the pressure of trying to set a good lap in the dying seconds of qualy, or waiting for the lights to go out at the start of a race. of course hes done all that in GP2....but can he cope doing it against 20 of the best drivers in the world? BlaZe_irl

I agree with everything said except the 20 best drivers. Only 5-7 of them are world class drivers and 1 of them is retiring.
