Haven't had a chance to post up a blog since I've been so busy over at the offices, but things are well!

So since I last posted Start Select has been up with content that I have provided, both in the Gears of War feature and the Outland video preview. Very cool that the guys here gave me the opportunity to work on the show and I'm happy that my content was of an adequate standard to be featured.

Been playing a lot of Operation Flashpoint Red River on all formats, video recording and screenshot capturing for the review that should be up any day now.

Next week I am hoping to get my first written preview of Transformer Dark of the Moon published, write a news piece and jump onto the podcast before I leave on Friday (how time flies). I might even get a chance to work on start select again, which would be amazing.

So my final draft for Transformer's preview is with the bosses and my first draft of the Outland preview hit their desk this morning. Very exciting as potentially this could be 2 articles ready to publish next week.

Aside from that, things are well, still loving my time here, check me out on Star/Select tonight playing Gears of War 3, some hilarious footage.

It dawned upon me today that due to the ridiculous amounts of Bank Holidays we have (which is cool dont get me wrong), I'm half way through my internship already. It's been incredibly productive so far, have learnt a lot about the industry and how things operate on an internal level, excellent knowledge.

Today's tasks include admin, listening to the podcast and now continuing on with more games that I still can't talk about! Well, Im gonna put the name, Outland on the Xbox Arcade, its very cool. Hoping to get some more footage up soon that goes past the first level that we already have posted on the site.

Drinks after work with the team as well tonight, very much looking forward to seeing everyone out of the working environment, even though everyone is so chill anyway that you dont need to be out of work to have a good time.

Day 7 of the internship and things are going very well. Everyones super friendly and helped me with everything, but now I seem to have a good idea of how everything operates, both on the web-site and on a content level.

Currently having my first piece of work reviewed by the upper echelon, hoping for some positive feedback and constructive criticism and then I should have my first piece ready to be put up on the site, thats cool.

Spent most of the day unfortunately trudging through admin work, but it has to be done, so no worries. Now Im milling around on the Xbox playing games that I cant talk about again (all these embargos!) and recording footage for potential previews I could do. Im trying to get as much content on the site as possible before I leave, even though I hope I dont have to leave! fingers crossed!

Starting my 2nd week at GameSpot UK and things are going really well. Was sent by myself to an Activision press event to check out some really cool stuff that I can't talk about! Info soon so no worries.

Also some great ideas coming in for the Gears of War 3 piece, mostly me getting blown up, executed and killed, gosh that game is fun.

Hopefully will have my first piece published soon regarding the Activision Press Event, stay tuned!

So I'm trying my hand at video capture and narrating over gameplay footage of the new Gears of War 3 beta. Must say it's been a whole load of fun trying it out, but I cant help but feel its just the same game again. I clocked over a hundred + hours combined over GOW 1 + 2 and I want something new, so far the minimal feature enhancements arent anything special and the maps dont stand out.

Nevertheless, there is still time, so we will see.

Day 3 at the GameSpot UK offices and I have been assigned another game to shoot some video content, WSC11, not the most exciting game but I do enjoy a bit of Snooker so its all good.

Much more importantly however, Portal 2 has come into the office and I have been assigned to do a feature video for the game, most probably surrounding the co-op content. Gonna go give it a whirl now and see what it's like!

Second day at the office and I'm learning to upload videos, images, news and even gonna get a sneak peak at the podcast shooting, cant wait.

Overgrowth

Looking at my membership, I am astonished that its been almost 7 years since I joined Gamespot. Now I find myself sitting in the GamespotUK offices, posting my first blog as a member of the team, how exciting!

I thought I'd post a little about myself, my name is Igor Kharin, I am a 3rd year University student studying at Cardiff, doing English Language.

Aside from that I'm a keen writer, working as an editor for other writing companies, and now trying my hand at the specialist video game and electronics side of writing.

I look forward to contributing on the website so keep on the look out for my work and I hope to hear from each and everyone of you on the site.
