"first taste of being the hunter and the hunted upon Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate's release".
With such a background one cannot possibly objectively evaluate how much the game progressed and what Monster Hunter World represents right now.
You didn't fight for your life when you attacked with the analog sticks on the ps2.
You didn't sweat against Yian Garuga with your friends on the psp while it was cable connected because it had cr*p battery.
You didn't look at the japanese releases for years grinding your theeth and asking "why Capcom? Why did you leave us alone?".
You played the ultimate edition of the first western MH that had online capabilities, you cannot possibly understand the struggle that brought us to this moment, this moment when the game we dreamt about sice we were kids is now real and beatiful and everything and more we could dream of.
I don't care if people say reviews are opinions, this is a major website and MH is one of the best known franchises in the world, there surely was someone at Gamespot who had a better experience of the history of the game and only with that knowledge you can truly appreciate MHW, if not even I can start reviewing RTS games or sims which I know basically nothing about and give a score. For a fan this game is a 100000000/10
@freeformrulz: So, let me just get this straight, you are replying to my 2 years old comment on christmas day just so that I can get an email that informs me that "freeformrulz" called me a "whining lil bitch" on the basis that I just remarked the score received by a videogame and anticipated that people who would be talking shit (reads-> you) would be present within the comments. Let me just clap you for your undying zealousness in bringing digital hatred all year long and let me wish you a Merry Christmas anyway since it seems you need it the most.
I like how gamespot editors always say that the score is the least important part of a review, Feedbackula is basically all about that, and still with the new site's layout they stamp a giant " 9 " right in the middle of the page.
