And I'm not exaggerating. The PC gaming community has been abuzz with the launch. And what gaggle wouldn't? We're all agog at the impressive work that the Black Mesa devs have produced. It's not just a faithful recreation of the very first Half-Life using the Source engine; the mod even feels different from the usual Half-Life 2 mods we've seen over the past decade. You have to see it to believe this free, downloadable first-person shooter PC game.

All you need to play is:

1. A Steam account

2. A Source game (excluding free to play Source games like Alien Swarm, if memory serves)

3. SDK 2007 (which you can get from Steam for free)

So a lot of people are infuriated about all the bugs in the game. Granted, they ARE customers and as such expect that the product they've purchased work and offer a bump-free ride. Sadly, in the more than 10 years I've been playing PC games, pre-purchase are hardly bug-free affairs. Darksiders 2 is one such game.
