Yeah assuming we're talking 2021 here, the game I'm most looking forward to playing is Horizon 2 followed very, very closely by God of War Ragnarok. Also cautiously optimistic about the next Battlefield... really hated V, but other than that one title I've thoroughly enjoyed every entry in the series for the last 10 years.

I'm sure this won't qualify as old for a lot of people but 3 and a half years after release I finally played horizon zero dawn and I think it's my new GOAT. I'm currently on my third playthrough and I'm still totally captivated by this title. The characters, setting, story, atmosphere, soundtrack - everything is just incredible. I actually feel sorry for people who played this on release, I've basically skipped 3 years of anticipating the sequel.

How on earth did Horizon Zero Dawn not make it into any of the suggestions in this thread? That and God of War are absolute must haves.

I'm glad to see HZD got some votes, that would be my choice as well. In fairness I haven't played many of the titles on this list but HZD was easily my favorite game I've played this gen. Not since Mass Effect was I ever so wholly sucked into a different world altogether.
