my bad in the europe part :P i was refering to south america and yes i live there (of course not all south america is poor. but it's hard to ignore that is has some degree of poorness. that's where i got the idea for this thread (because i know how is the situation in here). you probably live in NA so you don't know how it is here. p.s: can you explain that blu-ray point you made there? What I meant was, since PS3 includes a blu-ray that's like saying "oh it sold xxM units because of people buying it to watch movies and not play games" i still don't see how it relates to what i said. people pirate games to play.

I don't think anyone cares about your insinuation about how piracy "inflates console sales'" if this was such a huge factor then how come 360 software sales are so huge ? how about you answer that question.

i have already explained the way i think it is. but just to refresh your memory... remember that little console called ps2? remember how it was the best selling console? remember how a lot of games got great sales numbers? and now remember how piracy was a MAJOR issue with ps2? simple. people in the areas i have mentioned buy the console and they make the userbase grow. these people make free publicity for the console manufacturer of choice (word of mouth) even if they consume piracy. the huge publicity the manufacturer receives gives it a boost in sales not only in terms of hardware but software wise, because there's a lot of people who can afford to buy the original games. i think it's clear enough. P.S:again!!! i do not encourage piracy i just want to remark how it affects sales. i DO NOT CONSUME piracy.
So in other words your saying 360 sales are inflated because piracy.. then just come out and say it. Your right half of 360 sales are because of piracy the other half because RROD. PS3 sales are all legit and has no hardawre issues are you happy. :roll: Bottom line PS3 is in last place , reasons don't matter Sony doesn't go to their shareholders and say well 360 is only ahead because piracy.
i'm not saying this is the only factor to consider. does a year headstart ring a bell in your head? and there are others of course. i admit that during the "2007 ps3 game drought" i even considered buying one of the other consoles. all that i'm saying it's a factor to be considered
