I guess Microsoft has to wait for a month to recieve a replacement, but by that time GDC will be over. :P

[QUOTE="alex77k"]More than 10 million active users for WoW. 10million x $15 x 12 = 1.8 billion dollars!!!! Add 50 dollars for annual expansion and it becomes 2.3 billion dollars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Starcraft, diablo 2, warcraft 3 (viva DoTA!) are still being played by many players. Very few game studios have a single title that is loved and played by fans year after year.

Well, they don't make 1.8 billion dollars :D A lot of the money goes to maintance and I don't even want to know how much 1 server costs.
That's whats called the Revenue before cost is cut out then it becomes the profits. If Blizzard's revenue is more then half of EA I'm willing to bet their profit might be higher because their main cost right now is probably on WoW servers, expansion and Starcraft 2. But EA probably spends a lot more developing a lot more games, and the promotion and packaging for them. They probably spend a good amount on servers for some of its online games. I believe they were shutting down servers for some of their older console games, which would definately save them some money.
Even though Half Life is one of my favorite games including one of my favorite stories ever in a game, I have to vote for Half Life because of the modding community. Other then the excellent presentation, game desing, AI, graphics, blah, blah, blah, what really made Half Life go beyond its value are all the great free mods I have played on it over the years.
They Hunger Series, Poke646, Counter Strike, Team Fortress, Sven Co-Op, Garry's Mod, Science and Industries, Natural Selectoin and countless other user created content have made my purchase of Half Life series worth more than what I payed. Sure Half Life is one of the greatest games of all time but to me the fact that Valve allowed the community to expand the game makes this game way better then Halo.
I unfortunatly only have a 720p/1080i tv, but the games still look great. I wish I had a 1080p tv :(

I'm sure even 720p looks amazing compared to 480i/p. I remember when I first got my 50", I hooked up my PS2 with the stock analog cable, and I was disgusted with the picture.
Does anyone know if the PS3 is actually *Rendering* this game in 1920 X 1080?
This image makes me want to get a PS3 now, since I own a lot of old PS2 and PS1 games, that I would not mind playing again on my Big Screen.

What can I say... I !@#$ing love this update asdasd
Yea, they were innovative, but there was still that gap for loading times. My prediction is that, in the future of the HL series (or Valve's FPS), those seconds of pausing will disapear.

The loading time on original Half Life was so fast it might as well have been instant.
Personally, I don't think computer hardware will be able to catch up to the tradinal sort of loading (Load every map separately before every level). Game are becoming more and more complex and load heavy and it will be pretty damn hard to load a map and all of its graphic and physical feature(shading, lighting, geomerty) instantly. This is sort of how Half Life 2 Loads.
But the developers can improve the load times and do things like in Oblivion and GTA wheret here is an initial load then it sort of "Streams" the next part of the game.
If Valve figures out a way to do this with a linear map style like in Half Life 2 and still keep up the graphic complexity, then maybe someday there will be no loadtime.
