[QUOTE="Skittles_McGee"] You mean if Halo and CoD remain the "best" shooters, we'll have more games of similar quality? Oh, woe are we! We'll have good FPS's to play  Whatever shall we do?jg4xchamp

Good in what way? Campaign? Sure. While short, both campaigns were great. Halo 3 had the best in the series and COD4 was challenging. Multiplayer? Not so much. COD4 does a poor job of trying to imitate Halo 2 while having an extremely noob friendly multiplayer. Halo 3 also made it noob friendly with a hitbox the size of the Sun. (http://gameroom.mlgpro.com/view/3Vez2iWKMWw.html , its a Halo CE montage so if you can't look at poor graphics don't bother, however, if you can, watch for a few minutes where he shows how they dumbed down Halo 3)

I guess me and the other guy who quoted me are the few who actually want an FPS that's good and not casualized. Funny, because you guys cry about how people casualize your favorite genre.

wow i disagree with alot here....if anything Halo 1 was the easiest of the 3 to be good at in terms of MP because of the over powered pistol....and all in all it completely lacked any of the balance that is Halo 3 The maps are all well designed, no one weapon is too over powered(Sword in Halo 2, Pistol in Halo 1), no vehicle is unstoppable....if anything Halo 3 was a great improvement/refinement of the Halo MP formula Halo 2 and COD 4 can't even be compared ....game sty-les are completely different. If anything both games were better MP games than SP games. and from an MP standpoint Halo 3 owns just about any console MP game IMO.....and COD 4 is the best COD mp not named COD 1 and its expansion.

Whether you want to argue that the pistol was overpowered, it doesn't matter. You started off with a pistol, it's not like it was a power weapon. You were either better than your opponent or you weren't.

The sword, yes it was overpowered so I'll give you that. The length you could lunge was ridiculous. Someone made a montage and they lunged from sniper tower to BR tower (the one directly across) on Lockout. Whoever had sword basically won, there was really no skill involved in Halo 2.

[QUOTE="itsGodHimSelf"]It's bad for shooter fans if it flops. This flops, most developers won't try to push the bar for making an FPS/shooter. If the two "best" shooters this gen continue to be Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4, FPS fans are in trouble. These games are the Wii Fit and Wii Music of the FPS games.Skittles_McGee

That title belongs to Halo 3.EVOLV3

Halo 3 is generic but Halo 2 or CE aren't?

I love how the haters like to just like Halo 3. Each game is the same with a few minor tweaks, Halo 3 can't be generic and Halo CE be original, which is funny I say that because when people do say Halo, you get a million posters saying "zomg what?!? maybe halo 3 but halo combat evolved was wtfOMGrevoulituonary"

If you think Halo or Resistance deserve most generic FPS ever made you either a) don't play games, b) started gaming this gen c) don't know what you're talking about or d) a fanboy/hater because there is no other explanation as to why you think those games are more generic than Hour of Victory or Fracture.

BF: BC is nothing like older Battlefields, so please don't say it has that classic BF multiplayer.

Resistance 2 is not the best shooter this year, just because it has 60 player multiplayer means nothing. It's a good game, but STFU. Someone remind me to leave GS when MAG comes out because there will be four times as many post saying "zomg best multiplayer ever! 256 people playing!! ZOMG OMZMG ZOMG"

Call of Duty: World at War is not better than COD4. Unless the killcam is just wrong, WaW takes less skill than COD4 because when I watch it, it's hilarious watching people shoot the air next to me and getting the kill. It's almost as bad as the BR in Halo 3, where you can aim a foot away from their head and have your shots still register.

Platformers died because most people think platformers are kiddy. People are insecure and will play a shooter to make them seem more manly.

Shooters aren't dying anytime soon. Especially if this new MLG Themed Dr. Pepper works out the way it's planned, competitive gaming will get a huge boost and when people see you can make money off playing video games and having fun (despite what you kids think, most of the pros don't drain themselves into playing these games all day, they actually do other things) at the same time, it beats working at McDonald's hating your job.

No cross game invites. Can't join a friends game in progress. No private chat. No voice messaging.

I guess it's alright if online gaming isn't your main thing. However, for someone like me, PSN is a disappointment.

If you play catch-up, you might actually want to catch up. Xbox Live now has 8 people party chats, everyone in the party can be playing a different game. On PSN? You have to be on the XMB and stare at either a white background with little icons for different uses, or if you're lucky you can stare at someone if they have a PS Eye/Xbox Live Vision (it works) and you can't back out or you leave chat.
