I don't think it ruined gaming but I must admit, I miss the days of sitting down in front of the TV and playing split screen with 3 of your friends. Online has decreased my experience in that aspect and has now turned human contact into text on a screen. Sure it may be easier but it is less fun to play with friends. What has ruined gaming though is money hungry companies selling less than half a game and putting the rest behind a pay wall. Hopefully not every upcoming game will turn out like this but it's looking more and more likely unfortunately

If you're one that doesn't get scared too easily, Until Dawn is fantastic. Whilst I played it I felt immersed and really felt emotion for all characters. It feels like there's a consequence for every decision you make and if you make a mistake by picking the wrong choice - the game punishes you and makes you feel as if it was genuinely your fault. If you want the best experience, play through the game once whilst essentially blind to the outcome of the choice you make and leave it when you finish (you can't really replay it as it is based solely on narrative and not gameplay). It has been out for a while so you may have had the story spoiled already, but if not, pick it up. It should be quite cheap now
@jord: just must not be your thing then boss, recently I've started going back to older games, plugging in my SNES and going on old Mario games has been really great to do
- The main story was way too short and pretty boring, as soon as you went against the other factions is when it got good because you was able to kill every boring, lifeless thing in it, then it turned stale again - The side quests were not too bad and I actually spent most of my time doing them, apart from the misc ones, they were dead - I never used any companions other than to get maximum affinity with them but it was disappointing to find out that not all of them had a personal side quest, I just used Dogmeat most of the time - I never really liked the building mechanism on the game, it was very stressful to have something that should fit not snap into place - The map never seemed as big as it was boasted out to be with everything being so compact and dense, the only locations I really found interesting were Swans Pond but only because of Swan himself, The Institute and Nuka-World. Overall I'm glad that the game got console mod support because without the mods it struggles to really be a top quality game. I especially enjoyed the "Cannibal In Concord" mod. It's a fantastic concept but if compared to previous titles the game just seemed very bland
I feel like COD is dying irregardless of anything they try to do. If the developers really want to make the game great again then they need to remaster every single game that they have created up until Black Ops 2 obviously. As far as the "ww2" aspect goes, I feel like it's not going to be the same as it was previously. The COD's made by Treyarch are very hard hitting, right in your face, immersive story lines and a lot of blood and gore games. Only time will tell I guess but I don't have high hopes for COD anymore
Being a perfectionist is literally me. Every. Single. Game. I need to see that 100% stat and every single achievement/trophy that the game has need to be earned. If I don't have it then I haven't properly played the game. I save spam and restart if I haven't done something in my "right way"
I don't think that you're doing anything wrong, skyrim can get pretty boring at times. It's a lot like every bethesda game, they are great when you first pick it up, then you have about 3 days playing time levelling everything up and doing the quests, then it feels like you've done everything. Try challenging yourself if you're bored of the game, doing something you wouldn't normally. It's like when I was playing Fallout 4, I almost got 13 days playing time and I had done absolutely everything. So I pulled out a switchblade and tried to kill everything with it, deathclaws, mutants, everything. Just change up your gameplay a little and it should rekindle some lost fire that you once had
I know that the general consensus is NOT to pre-order games but I couldn't help myself, I needed to go onto the PlayStation store and pre-order Crash Bandicoot. I can't wait for the 47 days I need to wait to be over!
@rockfield: true boss, true
I haven't played too many bad games but I have to say Batman: Arkham Knight was a massive let down. I just couldn't get into it so I reverted back to the older generation Batman games to see what was missing and I honestly have no idea
