@BabyPulpFiction: Huh, so two problems. I've never played coop BL on a console so I'm just not very familiar with how it works. Glad you can at least save your progress anyway.

@BabyPulpFiction: Well that's even more bizarre. Just so I'm clear, it'll save fine if it's just single player but not for split screen? That's so specific it makes me think it's on purpose.

Time skip, I just went and googled it and it seems that other folks have posted about this too. It looks like it has to do with your bf playing as a guest. I haven't read a ton but from what I can tell it's due to his character not being tied to a specific account. Maybe create a full on profile for him and you might have better luck. It also probably has to do with him joining you in a game already in progress. He won't have completed any of the missions previous to where he joined you.

@BabyPulpFiction: I hope by now your issue is fixed, losing progress sucks. But just to weigh in, an internet connection shouldn't affect your saves. I live in a very internet limited area and most of the time my ps4 isn't connected to the internet. I've never had this issue. Same for pc games on steam. The save files are stored locally and uploaded when an internet connection is available. Maybe your hard drive has issues or something along those lines. Best of luck. That's a really frustrating problem to have.

While I'm not in favor of it online only games are going to become a lot more prevalent. It gives the publisher/developer total control and it reduces the amount of piracy. It also opens the door for extra profit (money grubbing) via micro transactions, which I think is a really slippery slope. I'm not a fan of these types of games. I find online play more annoying than entertaining. My real social life is fine and dandy. I don't feel the need to make video games a social experience. Plus last year I moved to a town of about 1000 people that has broadband internet but charges outrageous prices. $90 for 3Mb (yes megaBITS, not bytes of bandwidth) which is also unreliable AND being shared by three people. A lot of times it's a hassle just to stream netflix. Even if I wanted to play Destiny 2 or any other online only game I couldn't. First the lag is terrible and second any updates required take days to download. Can't play online games without being up to date right? So yeah, basically gaming is slowly shifting to an online model and I'm not at all pleased with it.

Thank Blizzard for making always online a requirement even for a single player game. They were really hypocritical about it too saying that the game intended to be social and that offline play would ruin the game, yet the console versions were all playable offline. I liked D3 but hated the online experience and wound up buying a ps4 version so I could just sit down and play without the online hassle.

@RSM-HQ: Well that's the thing, regarding those who played the first one I mean. Sure we like shooters and we like loot systems. But I think you'll have a hard time finding people who will say Destiny's loot system was anything other than completely broken. I bought it at release and gave up on it after a dozen hours and after realizing it was going to be repeated visits to the same areas with no variation just hoping something of value would come my way. Even after the updates and DLC most still had major problems with the game, largely due to the inconsistent drop system. Bungie released a very bad game, patched to a sightly less bad game, and then released statements saying they intentionally left out content and back story. Even gamespot was pretty unforgiving and rightly so. But when I came to the site today most of the articles were about the sequel in a "you have to see this!" kind of way . It just seems strange to me. If anything I'd have thought an objective game site would be advocating caution and scrutiny.

I'll admit, I haven't tried the Monster Hunter series. I just took a look and MH World and I have to say it looks damn good. I think I'll give that a try over Destiny 2.

75% of the news on the home page is about Destiny 2. I'm sure Bungie pays well but it's becoming a bit too transparent at this point. Give it a rest.

@Black_Knight_00: Hell yes. Mute and put on Sunny in Philidelphia or Parks and Rec. Listened to a lot of audiobooks that way too. It really does make grinding fun.

@Juub1990: I don't think you can compare the two really. Nintendo occupies a completely different segment of the gaming world than the MS and Sony. That differentiation is what's kept them in the game, even if only barely. The way they handled the Wii U nearly broke them and rightly so. To release a system like that with the promise of game releases only to saturate it with sub par original titles and re releases of old ones really insulted people. The switch looks like it'll be better supported but it can't compare to the other consoles on the market. One might decide on MS over Sony or vice versa, but no one would choose a switch over either of the other two unless they specifically wanted the software they offer.

Personally, I'm skipping the switch and will likely buy a scorpio when it comes out.
