Spec Ops: The Line Demo (Review)

So I played the demo version of Spec Ops:The Line for both the Xbox 360, and the PS3. The storyline, gameplay, and shooting mechanics were all great. But what I did not find too great were the controls. I found it hard to move my character around, and focus my shots on the enemy, and thus I frequently found myself dead in the desert. The camera was also all over the place. This issue will definitely need to be fixed/fine tuned prior to Spec Ops being released, or else I foresee this being another game with great potential falling by the wayside. Out!

Max Payne Time

Good Morning fellow gamers. Wow, its been 2 weeks since I last updated my blog?? Well, better late than never right? So, I went back this weekend and dusted off Max Payne 1 and 2 for the original Xbox. I beat them before years ago, but I want to beat them them again to refresh my memory of the storyline. I'm still on Max Payne 1, but should be done with both it and part 2 today. Max Payne 3 is mine on release day, tomorrow. Out!

Taylor Davis

I want to welcome my friend Taylor Davis to Gamer's Outpost. She is an outstanding violinist who creates wonderful game-related music, and I'm happy to be able to promote her work on my website. Now since words cannot express how her music makes me feel, I suggest that you visit her page now at http://www.gamersoutpost.net/taylordavis.html. Out!

Bloodforge

The Xbox 360 Arcade exclusive game, Bloodforge had been in development at Microsoft Games Studios for about two years before it was released on April 25, 2012. Now after all the griping about Microsoft not producing enough first party games, what do we choose to do with Bloodforge?? We chose to pan and criticize one of the few first party entries from Microsoft in a long while.

This folks, in my opinion, is wrong, as it sets a bad precedence not only for this game, but for just about every game that is released to negative reviews and criticism. It's like a snowball effect. A bad review usually generates additional bad reviews which generates widespread hatred for the game from people who have based their decision on the reviews and decided to not even bother buying/renting and playing the game.

Well, the buck needs to stop here folks. Bloodforge is one of the BEST games this hack and slash fan has ever played. The time has come where we stop letting ourselves be controlled by the reviews of someone who may or may not be a fan of that certain genre of game. A review has nothing to do with what you think. It is the personal opinion of a particular person or group of people who may just be having a bad day at the time of the review.

Now clear your head, go download Bloodforge, and you'll quickly see that it is by far a top quality Xbox 360 game. I promise that after a few sword fights, you'll feel like Conan's god - "Crom". Out!

Anticipated Games

I've been busy with life, and so I have not had a chance to write new blog posts until now. So, 2012 has a lot of games coming out within the next few months. However, out of all these great titles, only two are my most anticipated.

I can't wait to get my hands on Max Payne 3 next month. I'm also looking forward to playing Halo 4 in November.

But why these two you ask? Well, I have long being a fan of the Max Payne series. 1 and 2 were masterpieces on the original Xbox. And from the trailers I have seen of part 3, it will also be a masterpiece.

The same goes for Halo 4. Even though Bungie did not create this one, it is in good hands with the folks of 343 Industries. Master Chief has been MIA since 2007's Halo 3, so I cannot wait to see him back in action. Out!

2Pac Back?

Okay, by now, you have seen the Tupac "hologram" on YouTube. All I can say is AWESOME! What an amazing achievment, and this is definitely a turning point for not only the Music Industry, but also for gaming, and Technology as a whole. I mean, just think of the possibilies? You battling your way through a room full of hologram bad guys. You falling in love with the most beautiful hologram woman. You buying a ticket to see your favorite long dead artist, or film star. Tupac hologram is one of those futuristic moments that we all have been waiting for. And now that it has happened, the future holds no limits. Out!
