People's opinions about my reviews....

Well, I have been offline. However, when I log into my Gamespot account and view my contributions, I notice that several games I have written reviews on got recommendations. Unforutnately, I also noticed that a couple of my reviews were 0 out of 1 recommended or worse. People, if I dont say something you dont agree with than dont tarnish my reviews.

I only speak what is on my mind. True, my word composition seems a bit off and unprofessional but you are observing someone with no college level training on writing. However, I do welcome "CONSTRUCTIVE" feedback on my reviews. Feel free to let me know what you didn't agree with about my review of a specific game. I will only get better with positive, constructive feedback. Perhaps I can word things a little different so you can feel comfortable about the review I write.

Aside from all that, I do appreciate those of you who did recommend my review. I can enjoy seeing that when I log into my account. Anyway, thanks and enjoy.

A new era of gaming...

Well, here we are reaching the Christmas Season for 2008. So far we have seen releases in many different consoles and even managed to see some good releases at that. I believe that christmas of 2008 will truly make a difference for the Video game market. For instance, many great releases are going to be happening this fall. A good example will be LucasArts' new "Star Wars: Force Unleased" that will hit the market next month (September 2008). Or how about Microsoft and its big release of "Fable 2" for the Xbox 360.

Truly, you as well as I can see the changes about to take place. If anything these releases will breathe new life into the Video Game Industry. However, I am eager if not excited about the announcement of Diablo 3. How many of us have considered a new Diablo game since its Diablo 2 release of Diablo 2: Lord Of Destruction Expansion. Truly makes my head spin. Either way, this fall and winter is going to be exciting. Let us just hope that the game makers can keep up with the demand of their games (anyone struggling or have struggled with finding Wii Fit?).

Let the releases begin!

Tis the Season...

Tis the season to be jolly...

Well, Christmas has returned again and I must say that it is my favorite time of the year. I like the music, the decorations and so on. However, this blog isn't necessarily to comment about the season. It is to share with you all a perspective. In the recent weeks, I have purchased several games. Surprisingly, I purchased several sports game and more recent than that, purchased Assassins' Creed and Mass Effect (well, Mass Effect was already purchased months ago, I just managed to recover my preorder). Anyway, I hear Assassins' Creed is phenominal. I haven't had a chance to play it because Mass Effect has caught my attention 100%.

Move on, I have to say that this season has be an overall wonderful experience. Now, if only " Crisis Core: Finaly Fantasy VII " will make its debute in the states. Well, gotta fly. Later.

A Playstation 3 Opinion...

Let us start with the Playstation 3. As you know, the PS3 made its debute to US in November 2006. It sold out at many stores in my area during that month but then I noticed something odd. You see, a month or two past and then I began to see more and more stock of the PS3 in my area. What would cause the system to be made available? I am guess that it is because the system is a bit more expensive than what it is worth. However, I am not regretting my purchase. The PS3 does provide a few features that I am taking advantage of. For starters, the PS3 has unlocked my PSPs functionality and I am now able to purchase PSOne Classics for my PSP and play them on my PSP.

I also found that the Blu-Ray Player ability the PS3 has is also great. Sadly though, the PS3s game library is stagnant and slow. I think the PS3 would be much more profitable if they would find more game developers and publishers to develop for the PS3. Plus, they need to find more exclusive releases for the system because it is to my attention that several games that were originally developed exclusively for the PS3 isn't so exclusive anymore. That is my opinion.

My Star Wars Thoughts...

In recent weeks, I have been curious about a new Star Wars that is slated to be on the PS3 & Xbox 360. The game appears to show really good potential but there are no hard-coded game engines as of yet. All we have is a video that shows the potential.

Personally, I am interested in another RPG by Lucasarts. To this day, I still play around with the KOTOR series and occasionally play Jedi Academy. I am curious as to what will happen in the next couple of years. None the less, I will wait by the wayside and hope that more information will be available soon.

Fighting Games takes a new stand....

In recent months, there has been discussions about a game by Namco Bandai called " Tekken: Dark Resurrection " for the PSP. Well, this week, I scored a copy and have been playing it on my PSP since then. I could not believe how much improvements have been done since Dark Stalkers came out for the PSP at PSP Release.

Let me tell you about the game, Tekken for PSP. This game is everything it was said to be and more. The game possess great graphics, little loading time and even additional features that I cannot remember because of how many more there are. None the less, the game is worth every $1 spent to get it. I love it.

A Reflection on Shooters...

Within the last week of this post, I fronted the cash for a shooter on PSP. Don't get me wrong, I am very happy with my PSP but I do wish there was a bigger library of games. Especially in the RPG genre but that is ok. However, this reflection is not on RPGs (believe it or not) but on Shooters.

Speaking of Shooters, I fronted the cash for Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror for PSP. Let me tell you, I am thrilled to own this game. Although Gamespot does make some good points about the quick story mode and that some guns sound like toy guns. I can't help but admire this game's graphics. For a PSP game, this game is definately on one of my top 10s lists.

Where is the reflection? Well, my reflection on shooters is comparing this game with Coded Arms. Coded Arms had a great theory to it but considering they used a FPS versus a Third Person, it was difficult to grasp the control scheme. Even if you found a reasonable setting for controls. Coded Arms also made the guns look good but the world seemed a bit obscure.

Overall, Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror has made a big enough impact on me that I am proud to spend the $35 to $40 on it. Personally, I hope that Sony Bend and Sony in general consider making a sequal to this game. Maybe they can extend the story mode a bit.

The Year of 2006: Compilations of Final Fantasy VII

Since the truely exciting week of E3. There has been numerious announcements on may games and (for a change of pace...) consoles. We have heard from Nintendo and their " Wii " console. We have heard from Sony and their " Playstation 3 " w/BLU-RAY. We also heard from Microsoft with discussing future releases for their Xbox 360 system. With all this information, I just felt that their had to be something more from Square-Enix. Well, to my surprise, I wasn't let down.

Square-Enix has a number of things in the works for release this year. For starters, they advertised Final Fantasy XII for the PS2. Although I didn't see the trailer, I hear that it was a great show. Then they showed another trailer (which they titled: Compilations of Final Fantasy VII). In this trailer, they showed a game for the Mobile Phone, a remake of Final Fantasy VII for the PS3 and what really made me drop my jaw was Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII where you play as none other than Cloud's best friend, Zack. Judging from the screenshots. It looks to be a jaw dropping game for the beloved PSP. Crisis Core is suppose to take place 2 or so years before the events of Final Fantasy VII to place. I am eagerly awaiting to see what happens next.

The Nintendo DS...

Journal;

Hey, I wanted to talk a bit about the Nintendo DS. Well, as we all know, the Nintendo DS has been in the stores for some time now. However, I didn't buy it when it first came out. Surprising, the Nintendo DS is a very good system. I has the potential to be a dual game console (DS & GBA) and it has built in time and Pictochat.

Recently, when I bought the DS, I also bought Animal Crossing and love it. Just this past week, I also bought Mario & Luigi in time. Both games are surprising close to what they would look like on the Gamecube. None the less, I am quite fond of my little DS. However, I still will keep my PSP close.

A New World Leader...CIV IV

Good day all. This is Captain N. Listen, those of us who still like Turn Based Video games got a new addition to our library this last week. The game? Well, Civilization IV of course. Heh. This game is great. I enjoy the 3D design and the new interaction with the other countries in your venture. The Tech List has (I think) doubled and you get to really get extravagant with inserting new buildings in your city too. They also brought back the Cinematic movies when you accomplish a Wonder. It is great.

Civilization IV is also published by a new company so it makes since that Sid and his band of Videogaming Tech heads would change the interface and mechanics of the game. It will be great to get for any Turn Based Strategist Fan. Enjoy the awesome game.
