halo combat evolved was original xbox's only shooter you could buy from 11-15-2001 to 11-15-2002.

halo combat evolved also gained popularity because it was the original xbox's only first person shooter for 1 whole year. it has no competition from other shooters for a whole **** year.

listening to music i hate is not fun. the game aiming for me is not fun.

1. Mute the damn game...

2. It doesn't aim for you...

you can strafe back and forth holding trigger without even using the freelook analog and game will aim for you. i dont want to mute it, i want the gunfire and other sound effects just not the annoying music. this all points to it not being a polished shooter not including standard options.

gamespot's reviews of halo=a guy's opinion just like mine. i bet the reviewers own less fps games than i do lol..so you could take my opinion over his.

i played halo since november 15th 2001. halo was better off never existing. halo made it ok/cool for dev's to not give you options....to turn off auto aim/aim assist and music in their games..THAT'S NOT OK halo brought matchmaking to the industry also, and everyone knows matchmaking sucks compared to dedicated servers. halo did more bad for the industry than it did good.

halo even ruined crysis and killzone. ever since halo shipped in 2001 without option to turn off aim assist...you cant turn off aim assist in killzone2 or crysis either.

No developer should be allowed to ship a game without aim assist off or music off options. this **** was standard before halo hit the market. Not including options to turn this off is almost like not having option to adjust ur turning speed. just as bad.

turok the dinosaur hunter, goldeneye 007, perfect dark n64 these are some of the first shooters made for consoles you could turn off music and turn off auto aim. HALO doesnt live up to console shooter standards that's a fact.
