My sister has an Athlon xp 2500, a 9800 pro, and 512 megs of ram, will she be able to play this at all? I am sure she wouldnt mind if its at the lowest graphics settings as long as its playable.
I would reccomend her sim city 4, but it might be too involved for her, perhaps too compicated. I wouldnt know becuase i do not like those types of games. Is sim city 4 even playable to an extremely casual player?
If you're just starting out, play in an unranked match, or play a ranked match where the max rank is really low. I play a ton of Warhawk, and am really good at it now, and I always wonder how people that really suck at it can possibly enjoy it. (a lot of players end up with 1 kill and more than 10 deaths every round)You definitely need to play with people in your own skill set, improve, up your competition level, improve, etc etc...otherwise it'll be horrible.
The learning curve is STEEP. That's not debatable.

Good point. Earlier I figured out how to set the filters to be more fair to my uber-noobness and had a marginally better time. I ceased getting my butt kicked quite as frequently. I guess its just that the title feels really impersonal, on the nights when i have a full lobby of real life friends playing cod4 part of that expierience is the fact that I am joking around with them during/after matches, and when I get a kill, it is more rewarding because I personally know the person i am engaging.
Perhaps it is more of an issue with psn itself. Don't get me wrong, connecting is a breeze, and i have yet to expierience any real lag. From a technical standpoint the psn is just fine. The meat of my problem i suppose is that i am the only person i know, at all, that has a ps3. Playing with randoms that are only good for cursing at you and telling you how dumb you are is not an enticing expierience. I need some psn buddies.:|
Well I am starting to get the hang of it, but sadly I am not enjoying it much. I guess I just do not see the point in this game when I have much more compelling games to play such as COD4 on live. Shame too, I never really use psn much, and I can see that I probably will continue that trend until MGO comes out.
Warhawk is pretty meh-tastic in my opinion. Maybe I would like it more if the only console i own was a ps3; who knows. I feel like i may have out grown these types of anonymous fragfest titles.

I purchased Warhawk today (boxed copy with headset for the win) and I think i really enjoy it, my only issue is that it is so radically different from just about any other game i have played. Its very dense, and in a way, intimidating. I can hop into just about any other shooter on the market in no time at all, but not this one.
At any rate, i was hoping that someone on here could spend a little time in a private match with me to teach me the ropes. I would surely appreciate it. I tend to be a fast learner, so I will try to keep your frustration at a minimum.
My PSN gamertag is Shypwreck (i was in the Navy..trust me its funny), if someone here could just pm me via psn i would greatly appreciate it.

They only started selling the rumble controller with the PSone outside of japan. The Dualshock PS1 edition was only launched in Japan but the rumble feature was later dropped. So as I said, sony would only be trully releasing the rumble feature with the newly design system.Se7enwolf101
If by redesign your refering to the PS3 sans ps2 chipset then your are right, the chipset less PS3s surely wont be limited to just Europe. But thats not a true redesign in my opinion. They will put rumble in very very soon and release it with the newly manufactured PS3s, which will probably be without the ps2 chipset
thats not what I ment. For sony to sell systems with controllers that have rumble feature, it would be a great upset to PS3 owners who dont have it. If they were to go this way, it wont be for another several years when they put out a redesigned system.Se7enwolf101
How old are you? Just curious because you obviously do not remember the PS1 era very well. The original PS1 controller did not come with rumble or anologue sticks. Then in Japan they started packaging in dual stick controllers with no rumble, and very shortly after that they released the Dual Shock which added rumble functionality to their controller; for all regions. These controllers were packaged into the units as standard imediatly. Those with first gen stick/rumble less controllers simply had to buy the new ones. They will definetly put rumble into the stock controllers asap, history is repeating itself.
I have always considered zelda to be the greatest series in all of gaming. I based this on both how much fun I had w/these and how well made the game is. I remember when i was in highschool, having played all the previous zeldas and waiting waiting waiting for Oot, when i finally played that game it was the ultimate experience. Now, I am very sad to say that Zelda : TP is not the same for me. Its not because it isn't a fantastic game. The story, mythos, production are all top notch. It has become a chore for me to play. I basically feel like I'm playing the game just to get to the dungeon or to the boss battles. Getting the tears of light and getting through the first 3 dungeouns has been 70% boring and 30% excitement. Its sad but the game is way too time consuming, not challenging enough, and well ..not fun like i remember. I'm not knocking zelda. I'm just wondering if there are any others out there now who are older (i'm 24) and feel like they've grown out of zelda. I really dont have time for long time consuming games. I'd rather play good games where I can pretty much just pick them up and play and have fun. I'm talking anything from good old platformers (super mario world) to halo 2's online , gears of war, the god of wars, a few fighting and sports games. It seems like this is what gaming has come down to for me. :( skimad432
Dude i am right there with you, i'm 22 by the way, and just about everything you said is how i feel as well. TP was absolutely a chore, and the curious thing about that is that in just about every way it bests OOT, it just doesnt deliver anything fresh. I suppose its just getting a bit stale for those of us who litterally started playing zelda on the NES and havent skipped an entry yet. After TP I almost felt like they should retire the series if they cant recreate the magic of the prior entries.
