@so_hai: that's the part i didn't get at first. i watched the youtube videos. it's pretty cool. i guess the input is just the planet's coordinates in space?

for anyone who knows how these things work.... if no man's sky is procedurally generated (PG), then how would we be able to visit planets that were first discovered by other players? do they mean PG within each specific game, or PG within the whole game universe? if it's within the whole universe, then technically the whole in-game universe would be fully "generated" at some point (given enough time since there will be 18 x 10^18 planets)?

i always think it would be funny to go back in time to visit 5-year-old me playing duck hunt, and tell him: in the future you will play a video game where you can run people over and punch hookers in the face

i've been playing console games since NES back in the day. now, in my 30s, i find that open-world games are just not that fun for me. maybe it's the perfectionist in me, or impatience, but after several hours, it becomes a chore to make sure i read every in-game text, search every room, do all the fetch side quests. it comes to a point where i just focus on the main quest to be able to say i finished the game.

it's weird because i REALLY want to enjoy the games. there's so much praise for games like witcher 3 and fallout 4, but i just get burned out. it's come to a point where i'd rather find linear games instead, games like wolfenstein, dishonored, GoW. (i'm taking a break from fallout to play rayman legends now, actually)

anyone else feel the same way?

PS: i am looking forward to No Man's Sky though :o|

hahah i forgot i made this post! i was getting tired of dragon's dogma: dark arisen and wanted a new game. i figured arkham origins would be more of the same and decided to step out of my comfort zone and get AC4.

It took some getting used to the game, but i am addicted. i just got a crew for my ship and am plundering spanish vessels lol. the only thing that frustrates me (and this is because of my personality, not the game) is that i am OCD about getting all the hidden chests, animus fragments and shanties. I have to remind myself it's just a game and have fun with it :D

I've played both arkham asylum and city and loved them, but I've only played a little bit of the first assassin's creed. I want to save money and time and only get arkham origins or AC4. Would you go for AC4 just to play something different for a change? I just hope the game doesn't get repetitive.

I'm learning more about Norse mythology, as well as reading the Warhammer 40K Space Wolf novel, so I'm tempted to cancel my Darksiders 2 preorder and get Skyrim instead, but I'm on the fence.

I got Kingdoms of Amalur and got bored with it... seemed like I was playing it just for the sake of saying I completed quests. I'm a RPG fan, but I guess I get too obsessed with exploring/doing everything in open world games, to the point where it's almost a chore to play.

Hopefully my interest in Norse mythology and Elder Scrolls in general will keep me interested? Any perspectives?
