1. Halo 5

2. Uncharted collection

3. Madden Fifa

4. Cod

5. Battle Front

7. Fallout 4

Everything else will either sell marginally or be sucked up by these games. Holidays will be packed with games, and these will be the only ones to come out alive.

As for the thread topic it's impossible to answer. The winner will be the one who can get its other games to sell well outside the ones listed above during the packed holiday, because otherwise it looks even.

I can't believe people don't get how SD cards for gaming work. Vita and DS games are $40-$50 for a reason. This isn't going to a CVS and getting a 16gb SD for $12.

You neeed to format and program an SD disc from the ground up, this is excluding the ability for mp and dlc which would require further customization and you would have to developers the game around it as well

Putting Ridge Racer or Pokémon on 3DS is one thing putting games like GTA and Halo is is different story, we would be putting up $80 or more for games at some point. This is different than going to Walmart and getting SD card from company a for $10.

SD for gaming is expensive. There are advantages, but price isn't one.

Syphon Filter and Gears of War are the most important, their impact was wide spread and put together a blue print for others to follow.

The reason why western games are dominating now is because they are no longer isolating their markets. For example DQ may not do well outside Japan, but the 6 million sales of an entry in Japan can become 8 million because they released and advertised the game.

Western countries used to have a problem with targeting only either nationally or certain demographics. Currently this problem got transferred to Japan in a switch up. Don't believe me? Look at Tony Hawk, Fallout, Mortal Kombat, Spyro, earthworm Jim. These are best selling franchises but none put much to no effort in other areas of the world to push them. While games like ff7, tekken, Contra, Parappa, Pokémon did.

The best example is your own broken example of the Sega Genesis. It doesn't surprise me @jag85 showed slightly more sales for Japanese software and here's why:

NBA jam, Mortal Kombat, NFL Madden, these are best selling Genesis games, and yes in NA your theory would be correct, but how much did certain European countries or all of Japan buy these games? Marginal,. There also was next to no effort in advertising these abroad outside MK in a few countries.

However, phantasy star, sonic etc, we're, thus it's only logical to conclude by reaching a wider audience you would sell more. This is why jags 50% link during the ps2 gen makes perfect sense. That's also when the switch started happening.

The reason why western games are big today is because countries like America have rapidly spread out more, and Japan is becoming more nationalist with its software, a problem a lot of Western development used to have.

I always wondered why nobody leaks the other systems sales figures. I am very interested in where the PS3 and 360 are at, and the new Nvidia Sheild was topping the charts on Amazon and Gamestop for a lengthy amount of time. The 360 is probably close to the Wii U numbers anyway, so might as well give us all the information.
