Fist impressions from FFXIII (Spoiler Free)

It has been about four years since a Final Fantasy came out, but it seems it was worth the wait.

Here is a list of the greatest impressions so far from FFXIII:

1:Load Times--Load times have seem to be longer with 3rd generation video games. It often isn't a big deal, seeing how most games are under 20 hours long. But when your looking to play a game for 100+ hours it can get very old. At first I was afraid that your couldn't install the game on the hard drive (PS3), thinking that would effect the load times. However despite it's amazing graphics it's load times are quite quick.

2:Voice Acting--Just as all the reviews have verified, the voice acting is exceptionally good. Also, contrary to Gamespots review of the game, I haven't found Vanille's voice or character annoying (although very excentric) even after 10 hours into the game.

3:Story:--The story is very good--as is expected from FF games. But whats even better is the quality of the translation. It doesn't have that speciail quality often found with JRPGs, where a character says a technically correct--but awefully strange--statement for the sake of syncing the dialogue with the lip movements. Also, whenever the dialogue tried to be funny...its actually funny (also very rare for JRPGs).

4:Battle System:--Very different from other Final Fantasy games yet extremely fun. FF battle systems in the past have often been to repetitive in the past, but FFXIII's is very addicting and challenging.

5:Scenery:--Amazing!! You'll have hours of fun just exploring.

6:Graphics:--Excellent!! No framerate issues, incredable detail, and well designed.

Looking forward I am just hoping for many side quests and a conclusive storyline.

Regarding unemployment and video games.

I have recently joined with the 10% of Americans who are unemployed and looking for work. I kinda sucks--I don't know when I'll be able to find full time work again--but whatever. C'est la vie.

But it is now appearent to me why the video game industry seems to resistant to recessions. When you put all the math together, video games are a very affordable way to keep yourself entertained. If you shop for the right games, $60 can keep you entertained for well over a month.

I would be so board without video games. Thank God!

Gamespot's new layout.

It seems that gamespot is slowly on thier way to being a a well functioning website.

However, the website doesn't seem to work if I have my adblock on. I think that is lame.

Persona going to PSP

The original Persona is going to the psp. I think that is a very exciting idea. I never got into the Persona series until 3--but it turned out to be one of my top three games of all times.

I can't wait.

Atlus remake of ****c PlayStation role-playing game rules the retail roost as Sony's handheld tops hardware charts for second straight week.

Summer time!

Yeah!!!

School is finaly out and I have time to finaly play a video game.

Also note, Lost Oddysee is an awesome game! It is what I hoped FF12 would have been(don't get me wrong, it was a pretty okay game but not awesome enough to be a true FF).

Hope you all have a awesome summer also!

Perfect World beta release.

For all of you interested, Perfect World has it's open beta release out. It seems to have gotten positive review and should be good.

I actually downloaded it myself and have been playing it. But I don't know if I get MMO games, It hasn't stuck me as very fun--but maybe as I keep playing it will grow on me. Most of my favorite game I hated until they grew on me.

All of a sudden, I'm really exicted for Final Fantasy 13

Over the past few months I have been continually keeping track of the up coming Final Fantasy game (FF13), but today while updating myself on FF13 news I became suddenly overly-excited and almost giddy for it to come out.

I don't know if I can wait anymore.

Maybe I'm just on a caffine high and will settle down in a couple of hours, but seriously I think FF13 will be an epic game.

Playstation has broken my heart.

I seems playstation is finally saying goodbye to there backwards compatible units. The new consoles coming out this fall will not be able to support previous generation games.

I must have around 65 playstation 1&2 games that I still sometimes play, and what's worse is my playstation 2 is nearing the end of it's life.

I guess I'll try and musle out $500 and buy a 80gig before they sell out.
