It has been about four years since a Final Fantasy came out, but it seems it was worth the wait.
Here is a list of the greatest impressions so far from FFXIII:
1:Load Times--Load times have seem to be longer with 3rd generation video games. It often isn't a big deal, seeing how most games are under 20 hours long. But when your looking to play a game for 100+ hours it can get very old. At first I was afraid that your couldn't install the game on the hard drive (PS3), thinking that would effect the load times. However despite it's amazing graphics it's load times are quite quick.
2:Voice Acting--Just as all the reviews have verified, the voice acting is exceptionally good. Also, contrary to Gamespots review of the game, I haven't found Vanille's voice or character annoying (although very excentric) even after 10 hours into the game.
3:Story:--The story is very good--as is expected from FF games. But whats even better is the quality of the translation. It doesn't have that speciail quality often found with JRPGs, where a character says a technically correct--but awefully strange--statement for the sake of syncing the dialogue with the lip movements. Also, whenever the dialogue tried to be funny...its actually funny (also very rare for JRPGs).
4:Battle System:--Very different from other Final Fantasy games yet extremely fun. FF battle systems in the past have often been to repetitive in the past, but FFXIII's is very addicting and challenging.
5:Scenery:--Amazing!! You'll have hours of fun just exploring.
6:Graphics:--Excellent!! No framerate issues, incredable detail, and well designed.
Looking forward I am just hoping for many side quests and a conclusive storyline.
