I wrote my defense over the moderation warning I received for this topic. Now I don't know whether it surprises me this answer or not:
Maybe it wasn't trolling, but it most certainly was spam.
That 'maybe' is not what I was expecting from a moderator, considering that my topic was closed precisely for Trolling. People don't go to jail because 'maybe' they have done something wrong.
Spam? Come on, read what spam means and think of it again.
Oh, and what about this?
It is annoying to other users.
Why don't you say so to all the guys who actually laughed with the topic? Especially those who couldn't answer because it was locked.
At least 8 of 12 responses the topic received before it was closed were supporting it.
I'll insist one more time with this: I really think my 'article' represents the feelings of many PS3 fans tired with so many 360-fanboys going around with false topics in the PS3 forum.
Yes, it is true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just read this in some serious research that I found in a serious magazine:
Cell disappointment delays PS3 launch
Sony has recently announced that PlayStation 3 will be released on February 30th, 2019. They were expecting to sell it by 2006. However, some researchers from Sony decided that Cell processor is still too slow, and started to develop the brand-new Molecule processor with 3nm technology.
This new technology will allow the Spherecessor --as they call the tiny ball where the processors will lie-- to lodge 16 Molecule processors running at 11.67 GHz each.
According to Sony, the new console will include an 8-terabyte memory stick instead of hard-drive unit, and four 8-gigabyte DDR7 memories at 2048 MHz each, a total of 32 GB of RAM.
The PS3 will consume 2 watts per hour and will be packaged in an iPod-like, iPod-sized case. Batteries included only in pre-ordered machines.
The console will be sold with some bundled games like Metal Gear Solid 10: Renaissance, Final Fantasy XLVII, Need for Speed Intergalactic, the long-expected Monkey Island 5 and a collection pack with 80 Star Wars Academy-Republic-Commando-Jedi-X-Wing games.
Pre-order now for only US $14,990 and receive in your own house a TetriStationTransportable (TST) with 99 different tetris versions, each one with 20 difficult levels and 30 speed levels. So you'll have 59400 alternatives to ease the wait.
Add just US $8,990 and you will receive also a Sony VHDTV (Very High Definition TV) which full-supports 4320i and 5400p resolutions, and of course the set of speakers Creatively Inspired 32700, the first with full 16.4 surround, THX, Dolby Digital, DTS, absolutely wireless and supporting 128-bit, 240kHz sound.
I've been reading some reactions to the 800-dollars-PS3 rumour. Most users are currently arguing on the so expensive console, the bad strategic move of Sony and even the rise of the Xbox 360 as the winner of the next-gen console war.
Boy, cool down the things a little bit. The PS3 doesn't even have a release date and some PS fans are already checking Xbox 360 prices here and there and asking their dads for immediate sponsorhip. They're assuming the PS3 will actually be sold at 800, maybe 900 dollars, not to mention the games could cost up to $100 and even more.
Fortunately the market doesn't work like that. I know that PS3 materials cost near $900, but that doesn't mean the price will actually be greater or equal than $900, and the reasons are simple:
1. Sony has to lower the price to a reasonable quantity so the console could be massively sold first, and then slowly recover the money with the benefits it conveils. The red numbers will be green again in a year or two.
2. By the time the PS3 will be launched, the price of some components --especially Blu-ray and Cell processor-- should lower quite enough to transform the $900-curse in a $700-prayer that Sony-gods will answer sooner or later with a $500-bless. And don't forget Merryll Lynch says it will be a $320-miracle by 2009.
On the other hand, maybe Sony executives are starting to see the PS3 as the future elite console. Perhaps they want it to be the Mercedes-Benz of the consoles: it will be expensive, its 'accessories' (HDTV, games, controls) will be expensive and while they'll make a lot of money selling it, a few fortunate will have hours of great time enjoying their toy. At the same time, the rest of humanity will buy new PS2 systems by less than $100.
So... how much money is too much for a Mercedes? I'm sure there are good cars for $10,000, but I'm also sure that a Mercedes could easily cost 5 times that and still some people will buy it.
Will the PS3 be a too-expensive gadget or an affordable console for the common family? I don't have the answer, and I really don't care, so I'll just sit and see the show from my desktop.
(By the way, if the PS3 reaches $400 some day, call me and I will go out and buy one.)
