Yet his portfolio in games says otherwise, his only job as lead didnt even get released, he lost the main writing job in borderlands, and he was merely a revisor in the two other games.
To be clear, I didn't lose the main writing job in Borderlands. I handed in a full cinematic and VO script including secondary dialogue for the original vision of the game. When a new character was added, and the art style and attitude changed to its current form, the writing was done in-house (likely to save the expense of a freelancer, but that's speculation on my part). The producer, game director, and audio director were happy with what I wrote for the original vision, from everything I heard.
And, yes, two of my published credits are for revisions, but revisions cover not only dialogue editing but cutting subplots, trimming cinematics, and other things as well. This is usually due to scheduling and asset considerations and can be quite extensive, depending on the amount of clean up that must be done.
For the record, the reasons behind the cancellation of Wings of War had nothing to do with my position as job lead. The troubles stemmed from other projects the studio was working on. The studio closed soon after.
I've done a handful of other story development and writing jobs as well, for projects that are either unannounced or were cancelled by the publisher. Frankly, that's how it is in the game industry. A lot of work never sees the light of day, even if the project is close to finish (or even sometimes when it's finished).
If you don't like what I've written for Conduit 2, that's fine. But keep in mind there's an entire story, far beyond the snippets shown in trailers so far. It's perhaps a bit unfair to judge an entire work from a 30-second excerpt. Either way, I would appreciate not being derided for what strides I have made in an industry I love. You don't know me, and you probably aren't familiar with the body of my work. I'm not saying I'm awesome, but I'm not a hack either.
