World in Conflict isn't really an RTS, its more for lazy people who just want to blow **** up.

What makes an RTS is building, gathering, teching, and finally building a army, and about how effectively, and fast you do, while defending your self at the same time. Thats what takes strategy. Not dropping men into the battlefield, going around and blowing **** up all day not having to worry about resources, or defending your self from others harassing your base.

World in Conflict is probabaly fun for a while, but it wouldn't hold any real RTS players attention for long.

The strategy in WiC comes from not getting your units killed (just like real life). So you have to be careful about your decisions. On the regular RTS, you can send in your troops just to get them killed by the enemy defenses, only to rebuild your army right away (if you have enough resources) and do it again. WiC lets you call in reinforcements and assemble your army again, but you are not able to do it right away. There's were all the strategy of WiC lies on.

And it all comes down to a matter of taste. It doesnt matter if you are a "real" RTS player to get hooked up by it

Yes, i believe that you are right, it's more realistic in the sense that you can train troops just in a short while and is train one by one. By having the idea of reinforcements it makes the whole situation even more difficult to make attacks with the min. damage done.

world in conflict was the best strategy games i have ever played. unlike other strategy games where you have to build factorys and other power plant or so, it is much more handy to deploy troops just by ordering for reinforcements. The anti-tank infantry was cool against the enemy tank as they were able to hide in the forest. The best will be the tactical aids, it will be a lot more handy when you have tactical aids on hold. it will inflict high damages on any enemy troops.

Well if you want to know what im saying, go and get a set of it and start playing.
