@HomieHesAKlown No one disputes that Sony was foolish for not at least encrypting consumer data. That being said, hackers are the reason why those things need to be encrypted, and LulzSec is a dangerous group that could very well abuse information once they obtain it. Hackers are a scourge on the internet, and these slimeballs getting sued by Sony and hopefully locked up for breaking the law should be a warning to all of the others out there that plan on doing the same thing. Is there something about the safety of internet users and following the law that you don't understand? I think that you're the one missing the point here...
I hope they throw the book at them. There is no place in this world for useless, destructive hackers that cost companies billions of dollars each year in damages and fighting costs. Those costs are passed down to us, the consumers, as is the inconvenience of dealing with these losers on our own PCs and consoles.
@HomieHesAKlown It's only not secure because these idiots are trying to break into it. Without people like them, strong security wouldn't even be necessary.
@Naylord @jayelcey As a rule of thumb, I wait for the games that I'm on the fence about, but buy the great indie games either when they come out or are at a discount, such as Guacamelee is right now for Plus members. Plus is the best deal in console gaming, but I'm afraid that if everyone waits for games to be free, there won't be as many great games being developed. These small indie guys don't make a lot of money, especially when they reward us PS3 users with exclusivity. Let's enjoy Plus and utilize it, but not abuse it.
@TrueGB @jayelcey There isn't a single game on Playstation that requires an online connection unless that game is an online-only game like Dust 514 or whatever. People without internet connections can very much happily enjoy their PS3s with no issues.
