I think it is truly, truly awful :(

Every time I come to use it I have to think about where things are going to be, and even then I often have a hunt around. Most of each screen is taken up with advertisments that I really am not stupid enough to follow or care about. This means that most things that I want are buried under 1 or 2 tiny green boxes. How inspiring!

The menus are inconsistent, so on games I can sometimes filter by type but not all the time?? Also menus like the 'New releases' secions give me a list of games but don't actually say what the release is, is it a demo, or a video or a gamer pic? selecting the item doesn't help because that just takes you to the game. Awful awful awful.

The other day I went to play a video from my hard drive. Of course i went to video first and looked around. Here, nope, here, nope again. Where is it? Oh, the video player is under 'apps', not video. Yeah that makes sense , silly me, why would I want my video player under Video when I can have all those lovely adverts instead.

Did they usability test this at all? I am pretty savvy with finding things in software, it's pretty much my job, but this pile of toss still has me baffled and annoyed.

Everyone has their own idea about what makes a good game. This is why there is always so much conflict over which console is best. There is no right or wrong answer, it all depends on what you like. Personally I like the games linup that came out for my XBOX so i went and bought a 360.

There is a good range of games for the 360, driving, shooting, strategy, RPG, open world, puzzle. Some of the good titles like oblivion, gears, ghost recon, project gotham etc may be older now and not live up to future games but the good news is a lot of these will be available cheap on the pre-owned market.
