Would that eat into the bandwidth or would they still be seperate?hotfiree
If they wire the two connections in parallel there should be no loss of bandwidth.

[QUOTE="hotfiree"]I see thanks then. My current modem is one of those wireless ones so buying another is gonna cost me alot ( think it was like $200 AU ). Oh well it should be worth it :)

You should not need a second modem. Your ISP will provide the modem. Your wireless adapter will work the same way it does now but it will be able to access two different internet connections; your current home connection and the new one if you get it.

They wont be putting massive holes in the walls will they?hotfiree
Doubtful if you are planning to go wireless. They will only need to run one extra cable into the house and they should be able to bring it in very close to where the first cable comes in. Then just place your wireless router next to your current internet router and go wireless with everything else. If you plan to be hard-wired to your new connection then things get more complex because this will depend on where the current cable comes into the home and where your room is.

[QUOTE="IvanElk"]Depends on the brand of cards, but most of the time yes they do.jack_jackass
The brand is XFX.

XFX may or may not supply a crossfire bridge with the card. My first one did not come with a bridge but they will mail you one for free if you ask.

Yes, it can be done. The ISP will need to run a second cable into the house and rent you a second modem. Expect them to charge you for the extra labor.

You mentioned that you tried deleting the whole HDD and doing a fresh install. Did you consider reformatting the drive first instead of just deleting everything?

Did you try to run Drive Sweeper in Safe Mode? That usually works, you may need to run it 2-3 times to remove everything.

You did not tell us the model number of the Gigabyte mobo, you'll want to be sure that there is space for the 5870.

Well we need to know if it has a PCI-E slot or an AGP that is free, and what PSU it currently has and its specs.

Amith12
The CQ3040IL has one PCI-E x16 slot. I don't know about the PSU.
