There are some games that, as a child, were simply too challenging, and left me with a bad impression for years. When I was a kid, I found The Guardian Legend, an NES game published by Broderbound (the company that brought you Carmen Sandiego) at a rental place for $5 ... they were clearing out selected NES titles. I brought it home and couldn't last very long without my game genie ... in fact I think it is safe to say I became game genie dependent, but I was still never able to beat the game.

Spring Break is a wonderful time for students and counselors alike; I happen to be both. I grabbed my copy of TGL and started anew -- it had been probably 10 years since I last tried out this game and my game genie has long since passed on. TGL has got to be the most underrated game of all time. I beat it after several hours and leaving the NES paused fr days (too lazy for passwords until the end). If The Guardian Legend is not a part of your NES collection; it should be.

This page is meant to be something of an unofficial compatability guide to the Generation NEX System (Wikipedia page is used because gamespot blocked Messiah's page due to the usage of a forbidden word in the url). The official list may be found here, however there appears to be some discrepency between what is reported officially and what some users report. With that said, I have decided to track on this blog, what games work and what games do not in this unnofficial listing. This listing will be udated as my collection increases in size. Additionally this list is likely also valid for similar consoles such as the FC Twin which purportedly uses the same, or very similar, NES chip to run games.
