I know that it can be pressed at anytime. I was saying that lets say you are down in the count 0-2 and you press circle for contact before the pitch is thrown, then the pitch is delivered and you realize it's comin right down the middle and you would rather go with a power stroke instead. You can't cause you need to press the button pre-pitch then it dissapears, and there's no time to press square and swing while the pitch is on it's way. So you're pretty much locked in to a contact swing. Where as in 2K11 you read the pitch and decide which swing you are going with as you see it coming.

First let me say I love baseball and don't care for trolling, I am honest and just say what I feel is true no matter what game it benifits. Let me make you aware that the most recent baseball game I had was MLB 2k9 (yikes). So it is time to update as I usually do every other year, and I am torn. I was dead set on getting The Show thisyear and even went out and bought a PS3 for it (though there are some other great exclusive games I now own). I couldn't wait to try the demo out, especially after hearing all the praises past years installments have recv'd. I was fully expecting to be really blown away, and sadly for some reason I wasn't. Not that it was bad by any means, it just didn't have that oh wow I gotta have this effect on me, but I was still gonna get it anyway despite my now lowered expectations cause I needed something new. Then a week later the demo for 2K11 comes out on XboxLive (by the way it's like the 2k fella's were only focusing on the 360 version cause the PS3 demo looks like crap compared to the 360 one, so if I only had a PS3 then Show all the way). I was actually really impressed by the demo, and how much better it is from 2K9, and how it felt different and like a whole other game. This caused me to not be so sure as to which one I should get, The Show or 2K11(360). Each demo have things I like and don't like. And now I'm not so sure as to which I'll get. The following is my impressions on which is better for each:
*First I wan't to say I love games played in the sun, cause it give the game an opportunity to show off it's shadowing. I love this in 2k11 though I hope they smooth out the edges on the shadows more before it's release. However I feel The Show by choosing to hold their game late afternoon missed a great chance to show off their shadowing, which to me only adds good things to the graphics.
Player Graphics - The Show, without a doubt. Faces, uniforms and uniform fabric (texture and the way it moves) are right on, example Josh Hamilton. As for 2k11 well, Miguel Tejada. I love the broken bats in The Show and also love that you can take a couple of warm-up swings while in the batters box. For some reason in 2K11 you can't (use to be able to in 2k5).
Stadium Graphics - It's close, but I would actually give this to 2K11. It seems slightly more detaied to me, but not by a huge difference. Though I do like how in The Show if you slide at the plate it leaves a long path along the dirt and through the chalk that remains throughout the game. So the field actually shows wear as the game progresses, so maybe this actually should go to The Show.
Analog Pitching - Definitely 2K11, I find Show's to be horrible and found myself giving up on it and switching to the meter. I also like how in 2K11 the catcher suggestions on pitch and location are both vissable, where as in The Show you have to press a button to see what the catcher wants.
Analog Hitting - I give this to 2K11 and here's why, I like how in 2K11 the option to switch between power and contact is all in the analog. If you're in a 0-2 count and lookin to just make contact, but the pitcher messes up and it's coming down the middle, in the short time you have just pull back and take a rip. In The Show same situation, you would have to first press the square button for power then pull back and forward in the short time you have. 2K just seems to give you the better opportunity to take advantage of a mistake pitch on the fly.
Fielder Throwing Meters - Don't really like the look of either but if I had to choose I say 2k11's despite me feeling it's so long it draws your eye away from the fielder. But I do like the varying sweet spots depending on the player's arm, just wish the had the look of it similar to say MVP 2005. The Show's just doesn't work right as a whole.
Fielding - As far as throwing I love the way the fielders throw in The Show. They when you fill the meter the player actually guns it. For example in both games Hamilton throws to the plate, in The Show it's a one bounce strike getting the runner at the plate. In 2K despite getting it in the meter's sweet spot he just seems to lob it in there with no urgency causing it to roll and the catcher having to run a couple feet away from the plate to pick it up, hopefully there are sliders for this. Fielders catching wise I would say even.
Base Running - Pretty easy to use with 2k for running the bases but hard to master when it comes to stealing, and I didn't try any steals in The Show.
Crowd - This goes two ways, as far as the graphics 2k, but in terms of volume and accuracy in their reaction to the play it goes to The Show.
Commentary / Presentation / Sound - 2k hand's down. Even though 2k's demo had no commentators, based on previous installments you can expect it to be solid and feel like a TV broadcast. While The Show's presentation especially the batters walk-ups was fine I found the commentators to be very dull and boring. Also a major problem I had with The Show was when you don't get good wood on the bat it sounds like it, and when you blast a homer it sounds just the same, what the hell.
Weather - I'm not sure yet which this will go to, I don't know what either has in store for this category. Hopefully some rain that can be played in. Some rain that causes delays, shortened game, and rain outs. I would also like to see varying wind that affects the trajectory and distances of hits. Causing high flies to go for homers, or no doubters to fall to the warning track. All the while causing the fielders to have to reposition themselves.
Well that's all I could think of right now. What do you think? Do you agree, or am I way off? Which will you go with?

I would have to say the following games either set standards or broke the mold in graphics or gameplay, story or ideas, and changed gaming forever. Therefore for me they are must plays:
Super Mario Bros. 1 & 3 (nes)
God Of War 1, 2 & 3 (ps2 & ps3)
Twisted Metal 2 (ps)
Devil May Cry 1 (ps2)
Dino Crisis 2 (ps)
Tomb Raider II (ps)
Ace Combat 4: Shattered Skies(ps2)
Burnout 3: Takedown (xbox)
Need for Speed Underground (ps2)
Sonic The Hedgehog 1 & 2 (gen)
Super Mario Kart (snes)
The Sims (pc)
F-Zero (snes)
Street Fighter II: Championship Edition (gen)
Shadow Complex (360 - xbla)
Freedom Fighters (xbox)
Pac-Man
Tetris
Columns (gen)
Streets Of Rage 1 & 2 (gen)
Psychonauts (xbox)
Fight Night: Round 3 (360)
I can't think of any more right now, but I'm sure more will come to me. Do you agree?
I just got my PS3 and was wondering what if any good exclusive co-op games there are. I'm looking for something for offline story mode co-op play.
There is it's called the Power A Pro Elite wireless controller. I checked out some youtube reviews, it seems good and looks just like a 360 controller.I'm getting a PS3 & that's the one I'm gonna get as I can't stand the playstation remotes. I am selling my whole Wii setup and am going to be getting a PS3 very soon. I have a 360 which I love, but am so tired of not being able to play a decent baseball game. So I wanna get MLB 11 The Show, as well as Uncharted 1&2, God of War 3, and Heavy Rain. I know this is off topic but does anyone know any other must have exclusives?
There aren't really any people on the 2k7 forum so i'll ask it here. Does anybody know where I can find a Michael Jordan CAP for NBA 2K7? Thanks.
