My Wii U arrives tomorrow. And I cannot wait to get my hands on Bayonetta.

@ShoTTyMcNaDeS How does Driveclub being not so good, the result most people were expecting so it's not even disappointing, make the console itself and its entire library over-rated? Sounds like fanboy logic to me?

@canuckbiker Inconsistent behaviour, yes. All things being equal, not being able to work out the aliens pattern is a good thing. But what the review is pointing out is not inconsistencies on the part of the alien AI, it is inconsistencies in the implementation of the alien, and encounter design, used by the developer.

From the sounds of it, the devs never managed to create the persistent alien that they had intended, so they still rely on spawns, the poor implementation of which is probably what is leading to the frustrating deaths reviewers are mentioning.

It is a shame that the game suffered so much content bloat over its development; the shorter, focused terror experience they announced sounded much better than the bloated finished product.

@MooncalfReviews 'Bland moments build tension'. What? Bland is not tense, it is tedious. Those moment 'can' be used to build tension, but obviously the design has failed. This is correlated in every review I've seen. That's a flaw with the game, not the review that points it out.

@fdb20 There is a big difference between horror and frustration. Horror should not be trial and error, or have the inconsistencies that are outlined in the review, that's just bad design. As said in the review the save points are not the issue, it's a flawed reasons you may be forced back to one of them.

@prats93 Yeah, what dissonance? If you're talking about violence, you fundamentally misunderstand what Bioshock is about. You can't blame the game if you don't understand its core theme.

@prats93 And what dissonance would that be?
