I'm going to upgrade most of the internal section of my computer. Price is an issue but I also want to play the top games. Will this rig work and any improvements (Preferably increasing performance for less or same price) Thanks:

AMD Phenom II X6 1055T

Arctic cooler freezer pro

MSI 770-C45, AMD 770, AM3, PCI-E 2.0(x16), DDR3 1600(OC), SATA 3Gb/s, SATA RAID, ATX Motherboard

Patriot Sector 5 G Series 4GB (2x2GB) PC3-12800 1600MHz Dual Channel (PGV34G1600ELK)

1GB XFX HD 5850 Black

700W Storm LPK19-35 ,120mm Silent Fan

Adding up to a total of 610 pounds This needs to be reduced a bit and I'm not too sure if it will work and if I went a bit excessive on anything (like the PSU?) I want to keep performance however. Is the XFX version of this GPU worth it? Thanks

Both can now be bought for roughly the same price. The X2 offers better benchmarks. Is there any reason why to go for the 5850?

If you already have enough space on an old hard-drive. Is it worth buying a new one for speed purposes?

Thanks very much. I never realised how much money I could save on getting AMD (Especially because of the motherboard!) Are they're any dissadvantages from the 6 core over the i7? Also I found the sapphire and asus version of that GPU for less. Is XFX worth it? Thanks

I have a computer which basically needs all the internal stuff upgraded. Except maybe the hard drive. I would like it maximised for gaming and I want to be able to play everything on max details at like 25+fps.Looking on scan I reckon I can get a core i7 with a new motherboard for about 250, a graphics card (HD 4890) for an extra £100, leaving £200 for ram, cooler and hard-drive (maybe) Will this do it? If not please reccommend? Thanks

Ok about a year ago I heard core i7 would be needed to play games on PC. however I don't think that games will move on enough at the moment. Do you think a good core 2 quad will still be able to play the best games for 2 years? If not how long etc?

I loved/still love empire earth. Nothing is like it. For years i've been looking forward to ee3, to just be met with sheer dissapointment. Will there be a revival expansion? Will there be another game like it? Is there any secret mods or indie games for/like it? Answers, thoughts and opinions welcome.
