Hello!
I'm new... Sort of... And, well, I figured I'd do a blog challenge thing to get me into writing every day!
For my first blog (series?), I’m going to tackle the 30 Day Video Game Blog Challenge. The challenge parameters can be found here!
Basically, for the next 30 days I will be writing a blog based on video game themes. I hope you enjoy!
Day – 1 – First Video Game
So, first up is my first video game!
Looking back, the first game I can recall having an interest in was Star Wars: X-Wing Space Combat Simulator. Now, I’m taking the idea of my first game rather loosely. I didn’t actually play the game, I was only three at the time of it’s release and my parents never really allowed me to play video games until I was ten. However, that didn’t stop me from watching my dad play the X-Wing game.
My parents introduced me to Star wars at the meager age of two,. Of course I barely remember, but as far back as I can tell, Star Wars had been a part of my life. Not sure if it was my parents crazy love for it or all the flashy explosions and fighting, but I’ve been hooked to the Star Wars Universe for as long as I could walk and talk.
When my dad played the X-Wing game, I would hang on his arm and just watch. I probably never knew what was going on, but there was enough going on that enraptured my young mind. This isn’t really me playing my first game (in fact, the first game that I played was Mario 64), but X-Wing introduced me to gaming at a young age and would have a big influence on my gaming habits much later when I could play games.
What were your first experiences with video games?!
