Ouch tough decision !
i own both, so im just gonna throw out a few things i experienced and let you make the decision for yourself.

BIOSHOCK: Unbelievabley good as a horror title, plenty off twists and turns in the storyline and multiple ways to mow down your enemies and cut through the storyline. Now, if you are an achievement hound, then you will have to experience this game twice in order to unlock it all. If you treat it like an active FPS (like MoH or Killzone), then you can kamikaze through it easily, but if you crouch around every corner and walk softly then it will take ALOT longer. The problem is that after you beat it once, your like 'awww now i got to do that again?'. Playing it on hard you will find yourself trying desperately to conserve ammo, but IMO there is no other way that it should be experienced. It did win GotY for a reason ya know?

ASSASSIN'S CREED: I have to agree that AC is definitely the more 'fun' of the two. However, closer towards the end of the game it becomes monotonous and almost like a chore. Eventually i got to a point where i could only stomach 20 - 30 minutes a day. Once a third district opens up, you realize just how huge the cities really are and now you have to trek all the way back to get your mission? Unlocking all achievements again, is no picnic either, (for the findings of flags, i recommend you get a map of their locations and pick them up as soon as you get to the area and keep track of ones you already have).

I have unlocked ALL achievements for both of these games. My nephew just got Bioshock for his birthday and i gave him my official guide FOR KEEPS, because i WILL NOT be playing that game over, but AC does have some replay value...i guess...

Yeah, i have to agree with you here, even if they dont want us to take it so seriously, the point is that we do.
You would think that would be motivation enough to keep members, but...

yeah i to am now a 'super spy' once again... :(

Ya know, it's funny, in the newbies post Gamespot tells you that it is a score that no one should take seriously and just have fun with it, yet here we all are screaming bloody blue murder, even me. One thing that does 'bug' me is if such a gliltch exists, just how complex is this ranking system?

Well that does help a bit but, normally speaking my xbox is not connected to the Internet and it is a pain in the butt to set it up because of how 'poorly designed' my apartment is (location of wall and telephone outlets).
Not to mention that the one time i tried it, i found out my name was already taken, i will not use any other name because this particular name means alot to me, both as a person and a gamer.

I really hope you think about my idea seriously because it would be as easy as adding a tab, to another page, with a form on it, that modifies an additional table, set up in the database. The 'zone' could be pre-determined. Then on the profile page, if the 'zone' is of type 'manual' or whatever, then generate the gamer tag based on the info in the database. No offense, but this is a pretty painless thing to do even for one person, (again, trying hard not to tell you how to do your job or be condescending) as i am sure i am not the only person that would appreciate it.
I could set up a poll, would that help you to see the value in such a menial task? Sorry if i sound like a jerk, but it really bugs me that i cant show off my stripes. Again, a thousand apologies,I really am trying to be sincere and i do have alot of respect for this site.

Well to make a long story short, i do not have xbox live nor am I interested in it.
But i am proud of my achievements and my score and i too would like to display them.

Would it be possible to edit your gaming tag directly from your profile without the use of a live account?
I understand that this allows for the possibility of people being untruthful in their tags, but does it really matter?
In the welcome newbies board you said it yourself it serves no real purpose so we should just have fun with it.
What you have happening now is fine but it should be added to.

The name is in your about section of your profile but there could be a whole other tab in the profile where you can control your gamertag stats. Number of games played, A List of games played (with an option to request additional titles not listed perhaps?), current score, and a checklist of achievements for each game. Then the most recent ones would show up in your gamertag. You could use the standard images that come with the system or upload your own. If you want people to be aware of the possibility that this may not be an accurate portrayal of the gamer, then the 'zone' could be 'offline' or 'unwired' or something. So when people see the tag and it says 9999999 points but the the zone is one that is not related to a live account, then you know they could be lying. If you dont want to go as far as i have described then at least make it possible to update the score, GT image and four most recent achievements. Please?
btw, I'm a web developer myself, so i apologize if you feel like i am telling you how to do your job, cuz I'm not.

Thanks,
