[QUOTE="BLaZiNg_SPEED"]As for the sound. Do I need to buy a HDMI cable? Will a normal HDMI do me good? So do you reckon I'll receive sound if I actually connect my monitor with my graphics card using a HDMI cable and then connect the green audio jack with my computer? markop2003You won't receive sound through it no matter what you do, it dosn't have any speakers. The jack is an audio output to pass the signal on to speakers or headphones when HDMI is used. It is not and input, you won't get sound coming out of your monitor no matter what you do. If he has the T240HD he will get sound. It's basically a 24 inch HDTV (comes with ATSC/QAM tuner and remote) with 1920x1200 resolution instead of 1080P. I have the same monitor, and used the speakers in the monitor until I got my Z-5500s hooked up. The speakers aren't much (Dolby Digital Sound (3W x 2Ch)) but they do in a pinch. Now if he got the T240 and called it HD because of the resolution, then you are right, there wont be sound coming out because that model doesn't have speakers built in.

I didn't like the latest POP because it was too simplistic. You could never die, and the combat was a mishmash of "Push this botton nao!" crap that seems to satisfy a lot of other people.kimkim01
I've never understood this complaint about PoP 2008. Why is rewinding time with sand powers until you die and have to reload so much better than Elika instantly bringing you back to the action?
Anyway, hmm best prince of persia eh? Sands of Time was amazing, awesome platforming, decent combat, great story, lots of personality to the characters. Probably my favorite of the modern PoPs. WW had the best combat of the series by far, nice mature change, incredible story. Didn't like the whole teenage angsty feeling the prince had, and the music was a big departure from what I had liked in SoT but I think it worked....just wasn't as good as it could have been. TT had good combat again, missed the dismemberment of WW though, a shame they took it away. Back to the roots of SoT imagery which I liked, a nice blend of Sands of Time and Warrior Within. I hate quick time events though. The chain whip did make for an awesome change of pace.
And then finally the newest entry, great art style, IMO one of the best looking games out there. Innovative platforming with the power pads, annoying collection of light seeds wasn't too much of a hassle since I liked the platforming sections, trying to get everywhere. Combat was ok, I still hate quicktime events. My big problem was the non-linear paths you could take meant the games difficulty didn't really scale up at all, and you had to do a lot of back tracking once you had activated all of the different power plates. Not a huge deal, but worth noting. So with all that, I think POP:SoT was the best new entry into the prince of persia franchise
YOU MAY LIKE BIOSHOCK WAY BETTER! ive played through the entire story of bioshock 15 times i love the game it is one of my favorites of all time and dont let anyone tell you like ive already seen in some comments that its just another fps because its won many story award and it plays like a rpg without the boringness. MASS EFFECT I PLAYED FOR 5 MINUTES AND QUIT! it just felt weird to me the graphics were crap and it had no story. sure it was a rpg in terms theyd ask you something and youd choose one of 3 things but i didnt know what the hell was going on. and by the way its in the reviews... gamespot gave bioshock editors choice award and mass effect nothing..

Both Bioshock and Mass Effect received 9.0 scores and editor's choice awards from gamespot...
Anyway, both games were awesome, and deserving of those scores. Mass Effect had a fairly generic sci-fi story but it was presented very well, great characters, lots of personality to them. Probably has better replay value if you want to play through as a evil or good character. I think Mass Effect was a longer game too. I just finished Bioshock last week and it was pretty sweet. Awesome story, awesome art style, nice FPS with RPG elements. It did start to get a bit repetitive towards the end, but then it ended and it was awesome. I can't wait for both sequels. Basically, you can do no wrong with either of those games, and at their current price points, you really owe it to yourself as a gamer to pick up both of them eventually. Which one you decide is up to you. If I were to choose one first, I'd probably choose Mass Effect.
I don't have a stack of unplayed games, but I DO have a stack of unbeaten games. I have this problem of starting a game, then getting distracted by another game and forgetting about the original. Just to list a few that I have started and not beaten: KOTOR, SW: Republic Commando, GTA: San Andreas, Fallout 3, Far Cry 2, Bioshock, Gears of War, DMC4 (waiting on getting a gamepad for that one, so I guess that's legit), CoD:WaW, ES4:Oblivion, Mafia, Doom 3...and that's just quick off the top of my head. I gotta get on all those...
I've seen the HD 4850 for 100 after rebate. I'm pretty sure that would be the best you can get.
I've been using Vista x64 ultimate since I built my new rig back in october and it has played everything I've tried so far (mostly new games so far, I haven't installed many of my older games.) If you still have a copy of XP, it's easy enough to partition your harddrive and do a dual OS install, that's what I've done.
A matter of curiousity though; why is it that 16 bit games won't run on x64 vista (or does that apply to x64 XP as well?) I thought that the x64 was just mostly about memory addressing, which is why x64 based OS don't limit your ram to 3.25 gb or so. If anyone knows, or has a link to that info, it would be appreciated. Always trying to learn more about computers :D
