Best comment I've read on the subject in some time. The tank controls and the camera angles WERE what made alone in the dark, RE 1,2,3 so tense. Not every game has to be the same. That's the wonder of the hobby. Clearly many people not only enjoyed this style of game, but are calling for a return to form. There are plenty of third-person 3d (and 1st person) horror games for this type to co-exist. So much hate.
Your (and the community's) opinion about how seriously Microsoft is "fucckking" you over doesn't give you (or anyone else) the right to break the law. Where do you draw the line? I think the new Aventador is too expensive, does that mean that I can break into the Lamborghini dealership and steal one? Of course not. Piracy is NEVER the right answer, and the only thing it does is perpetuate the problem that we are seeing from Microsoft right now!
And I'm going to speak slowly and use small words so as not to confuse you... I-was-responding-to-your-original-inane-comment-about-'kicking up a fuss'. You asked why people were kicking up such a fuss over the xbox one's drm, claiming that Steam did the exact same thing. Then you said that the only difference was that it was a 'less intrusive DRM'. I'm making the point that that ISN'T the only difference.
No. You're missing the point. The difference is that you can only play the xbox one title on the system it is linked to. Nowhere else. Ever. At all.
You made a comparison to Steam. Steam games can be played on any computer it is installed on. With your account. I.e. I can play it on my desktop, my laptop, my friends computer (as long as he has Steam), etc.
Not to mention the fact that this 'linking' isn't only about your account. It also 'marries or ties' your disc to the physical SYSTEM. I can play any game I have purchased on Steam on any computer that I have, or can log my account into.
You can only play that 'linked' Xbox disc on the system it is tied to.
Sure, tell that to the thousands of people that had their credit card information compromised. Just because only a few of those people ended up losing money doesn't make this threat any less real. How 'bout when Lulzsec hacks your bank and you find your account empty? You think this sort of activity is going to subside as we become ever more reliant on technology and computers that are globally networked? Sure it's easy to blame companies for lax security, but these hackers are on the bleeding edge of information technology/digital protocol and there are few legit employees that could begin to properly defend against a concentrated attack from such misguided talent.
Don't get me wrong, I hate corporate greed as much as the next guy (don't get me started on EA's 20-year downward spiral), but I would NEVER give props to anyone who wasted genius-level intellect on such damaging 'messing about'.
P.S. If that quote about child molesters getting less time than this [three years] is true, then we all have something to be enraged about.
