Yes you heard right. A ps3.
Really? Your serious? Yup.
List of reasons
1 I've owned the xbox and the 360 in the past. I took a good look at which each had to offer and have sold both back. Halo 3 does nothing for me. Over half of the 360 games are available or will be available on the p.c in the future. Which brings me to 2
2 Games. Looking back, I missed out on over two generations of high quality playstation releases. I've never gotten around to playing siletn hill 1. Never touched a metal gear solid. It has backwards compatibility so I can play all those games for the first time while sampling what is new.
3 Silent Hill 5. Its not coming to p.c. I shed a tear. But guess what.... PS3!. Now I know little voice in my head, I've gone down this route before, spend $ on new system for one game (oblvion) beat the sucker in a week (intense playing sesssions) start bleeding money and sell back after 8 months because of lack of compelling game titles. Whew. Well on to point number 4
4 Blu-Ray. Victory. Me siding with the winner. Me enjoying hd movies for as long as format exists with something that has the potential to be its best player. But come on, a moive playing machine.. calling number FIVE!
5 The other worthwhile multiplat games. Check system wars, threads abound.
6 I like the hardware. Quiet. Nice finish, ect.
7 Yeah.
8 Only around 15 of those games would not be available to me with a potential p.c ps3 line up.
So, I visted an E.B today. After trading in some crappy dvds that I no longer wanted I have some extra cash and for the first time in months I could buy a brand new ($50) game! Awesome. So I look around at what's available, hmmm, orange box (played), bioshock (played) Call of Duty 4 (too short but if it was 29.99...). Finally, we come to crysis and the witcher. Big hold up. Usually when I buy I game I know exactly what I want and where to get it. I debated with myself for ten minutes about which game I should get. Action FPS with "teh uber graphics" with far cry (but better) like gameplay and huge future mod base. (expect it to be bigger than half life 2's mod base) Or real RPG with great graphics, story, real choices, highly rated. I couldn't lose. The only way that I lost was that I couldn't take them both home with me. Finally, crysis won. But next on the list is the witcher.
2007 was a great year for gaming, and saved two of the best for last. I honestly think that we will not see the likes of it ever again. Hermit, Cow, Sheep, Lemming or (lucky rich bastard you) maticore, you won. Game makers, I salute you.
Wow, here goes nothing. How's it going reader? This is my first ever post of my first blog and I hope to make it a blog worth reading.
I know that now is a werid time to get this started, especially considering the whole Jeff situation and the subquent mass exodus of members, but I feel that now is the right time for me to start an on going project such as this. Anyway, about the whole Jeff situation; I personally need some more proof to accept the widely held belief that Jeff was let go over a single video game review. I understand the circumstancal evidence fine, Kane and Lynch ads plastered all over the damn site, a poor review, a firing and a video review removed. However, that could be nothing more than bad timing and an unprofessional video review. The orginal written review and that review's final score of 6.0 still stands. Now if that review were to bve magically changed to a 7.0 or 7.5, than the game is afoot. Until then, I need some evidence.
Switching gears, about my "special condition"; basically, I have a form of mild hyperacusis in my left ear. (hint, click on the link) Yes, I have to wear earplugs outside in town, by a road way, in a car, on a bus and in the shower. I also used to be fairly heavy into hi fi headphones and I've been forced to let that hobby go. (if you do want some recommendations about equipment, headphones, ask. I still remember all of that stuff) So instead I've re invested my time into gaming. I've purcased all but two of my games within the last 12 months and have made some substanial upgrades to my computer after selling off my old equipment. I'm trying hard to build a worthy collection however it has been slow going. I also have a large stack of games waiting to be finished before I even look for new games to buy. The cluprit of my malise, college. I promise more reviews of mine to be coming as I finish the games and I promise that they will be of higher quality than my first two bombs.
Anyway, just a little about me, my condition and why I game. I hope to update soon. Peace.
