I hate to be one of those people that talk about the Great Past, but seriously, where are they? It didn't seem that long ago when CoD modern warfare, the Mass Effect trilogy, Halo, Fallout, & many other incredible works were on the market.

When I come back & check the market now, I can't seem to find anything interesting to look at on a website that used to focus on great games. Now it just seems like any crap game that comes along gets dumped on the website & interferes with finding the high-quality games that we used to have so many of in the past.

Where's the good stuff? Is there a better site out there where you get the goods on the great games? Or are we stuck with just following the video game publisher/producer websites for new things?

It's just weird how there isn't any new incredible games on the market as there once was. Or that it's just a very small handful, nothing like it used to be. There doesn't seem to be any new creative content either, at least not before. It's always built on top of something that came before, much like infinite Hollywood Reboots.

Please explain to me why I lost my character when I play online and people just leave then I get message saying like I left this is bullshit man I lost my character and what people do is they just come with low characters and they just leave few times then you lose your strong character gave me a reason why should I continue playing this game?dritan87

I tried the basic 1-lethal XBL match with a low ranking Gladiator just to see what it was like and was matched with somebody who had 128 ranking, far higher than myself.  He then quit the game.  Afterwards, the game complained to me that I was in danger of losing my Gladiator if I continued to avoid battles.  My question is: does it happen to the other guy as well?  If it did then they probably wouldn't bother trying to gank your character.

After seeing that, I'm just sticking with the single-player game & enjoying it greatly.  I think for multiplayer games, perhaps it's better to setup matches with your friends on XBL rather than doing a random match where it's likely kids on the other end who just want to kill your character by dropping the match.

I think this would have been a better game if they just sold it for money without the stupid micro-transactions.  I'm not buying anything in the game and I'm still enjoying it.  In fact, buying something feels like it would spoil the experience.

Hello GS,

Is it possible to change my username to something else?
If not, how can I go about removing my entire account &
everything I've put on it from your site so I can start over?

Thanks!

Since when did System Wars get dominated by the Hermits? Cows are such bottom feeders. I guess some good news is better than none - their usual pace.

So far doesn't sound like AAA. Probably AA. It still looks like a fun game. I usually buy the 360 Exclusives. I bought Too Human. It was alright..has some really tough, annoying achievements though.

I think short games is a matter of perception. How much free time do you have for gaming? I only play on the weekends. So one or two games, such as GTA IV & Fallout 3, will last me for several months. I can buy new Xbox games, but they'll be put on the shelf for later as there won't be enough time to play them. Plus there are tons of games. If the game takes too long to finish, then you won't be able to play the other games.

So you want a game that is not too long & not too short, so you can balance out all the other games that are out there & also weigh in the amount of free time you have to play them. Not all of us have 4-5 days of free time in a row to play a game. If I had that, then I'd be knocking those games out left & right & would start to think the games were short. They aren't really.

Well, the 2009 lineup hasn't been too phenomenal so far. We got RE5..but I played the demo & my impression of it didn't make me want to play it. I bought 3-4 JRPG 360 exclusives last year but haven't played them yet, so Star Ocean will look better after the price drop.

I have liked the Fallout 3 expansions & the GTA IV expansion. Also what seems to be missed is Watchmen: The End is Nigh & I like that game as well, although not an exclusive.

You made an exhaustive list of potential games for the 360. Excellent work. Please keep it up.

[QUOTE="-Reggaeton-"]

If it would be like maple story then yes, otherwise no.

obamanian

That is a real RPG, like say Baldur Gate, only on XBLA

Yes, if it was like Baldur's Gate, I would buy it the second it came out. I love games like that & would enjoy having one on my 360 to play.

If you do not recognize it, Sony was for the "mainstream" market last year, and that's probably how they won. They had their good games and exclusive titles, but at the same time, most of their games were the casual type meant to appeal to kids. They also didn't pay much attention to online play, and just slapped it on the console like that. Yet it received so much praise, but it was obvious that they took it off of PC gaming and LIVE and lacked the full features of those respective systems. But they continued to sell exponentially better than any other console on the market. And I'm not sure if you PS2 owners remember, but Memory Card's were SIGNIFICANTLY over-priced! You could get a USB drive for MUCH less!

Now that PS3 is trailing behind the other consoles, however, things have changed. All these crappy mainstream games, or at least a whole lot of them, have wandered elsewhere(Wii is actually the big home to those now). The PS3 is actually ALOT better than the PS2 console, ALOT more powerful, and a good value even for a high price(and $500/$600? WHAT were they thinking?!). Actually, that sky-high price does show another part to Sony's greed. IMO, they should have waited till blu-ray was cheaper to produce, but arrogance got the better of them and they were forced to concede to price-drops and limited software/console sales. Now, it actually does feel like it's worth $400, especially since blu-ray reached out to the market more. PS3 BARELY had any games to start because Sony was so confident in selling just as much as the PS2 did in profit(not sales numbers, but overall profit) with only a few games(Multi-plat's mostly, and only a few exclusives like RFOM and Motorstorm; barely cutting sauce, even if they are good games).

Then about a year later, Sony realized where all their cash was going. They had to do something quick or they were going to have to close their gaming division for good. It's great how they did change things, as now their exclusive line-up is large and expanding, and a bit profitable to them now to continue on with hiring 1st party dev's to make mostly A-quality games. They decided to add more to PSN to make it more competitive for the price of free. And now, Sony's actually getting used to the 3rd place treatment, but they got the worst of it, since sales continue to tremble as the economy is not profitable enough.

See, Sony's losing in this gen actually made their reputation ALOT better. I can actually respect them as a company now, because their products really are of great quality. Even with low amount of sales, Sony continues to sell its high-priced products, but most of them do live up to the expensive price now. And now, Sony caters much more to the hardcore fan base than the casual audience like they did last gen.

Sony's change seems to be favorable in the long run as it continues to gain more respect by dev's who make first-party exclusives for them.

So I'm actually glad they are losing, because if they were on top, last gen would repeat itself yet again. A foolish move on Sony's part, but they were asking for it, and now hopefully, they can revise their errors created by greed and become profitable yet again. PS3 gamers can actually gain from Sony's loss here.

First off you're saying that Sorny "needs to wait until blu-ray's cost comes down" before adding it to the console. Since they own the technology, how do you expect the cost to come down? License it to other parties & wait 10 years?? I think they would like to get a better ROI today, not 10 years from now. Plus, do you think competition from Nintendo & Mr. Softy would be waiting for them?

Also, the biggest problem with Sorny is that it doesn't use a Microsoft-based software backend for its games. If it did, the games would be easier to port over & there wouldn't be anything to keep Sorny from having their multi-plat form games looking like dirt compared to the 360 & PC platforms. American Devs build their games with Microsoft products. THEN they port the game to PS3. That's how it's going to be as long as Microsoft controls the PC compiler/programmer markets. There is no way Sorny is going to move that elephant.

So I was following you through the story, Sorny is going downhill, but then near the end you turn it around & somehow make a baseless claim that Sorny, being the loser, is better for their market. So Sorny likes losing billions so they can appeal to a minority market & make better games for a handful of people? Are you serious?

There is no greed on Sorny's part here. Just ignorance. My guess is the PS4 will have more in common with the next-gen Wii than the next-gen 360.

Please explain to me how exactly are they 'gimped'? The Playstation 3 has a slightly better CPU than the 360 and the 360 has a better graphics chip, this isn't an oppinion its fact. I build PC's so I know all about technical specifications. I also own both a PS3 and a 360. The only the thing the PS3 has over the 360 is Blu-ray, contrary to what some people think, Blu-ray does not produce better graphics, graphics are determined by the machines graphics and processing power not the media. (I will go into this in a later post). As for the Wii catching up with the 360, what a load of rubbish!! The Wii has a 700Mhz CPU a graphics card that is underpowered and can't do resolutions higher than 720x480. It also only has about 128mb of ram! (360 has a 3.2Ghz CPU an advanced ATI graphics card and 512mb). Now I'm not attacking the Wii, I think it has some great games, and its fun with lots of people but its not an HD system. It can't compete with the 360, in fact it was never designed to anyway.Bond007uk

I think this explanation settles it. PS3 isn't gimped, it only has the blu-ray going for it. But I do like the ability the PS3 has with being able to change out any hard drive & wish that feature was on a 360. If the 360 games line up was on the PS3, I definitely would have bought the PS3 instead of the 360. It would have been a good what-if scenario.
