1) Defiance can be completed by yourself with the exception of major Arkfalls, which require multiple players to complete. However, the game automatically notifies everyone of where these completely optional events are on their map so there's nothing for you to do.

2) The allure first allure of MMOs is that you have a consistent character that you can develop, customize, and progress. The time you invest in the game is rewarded and you will have certain advantages over those who have invested less time. The second is you can play with 100s of players at the same time.

3) PvP is acronym for player versus player. PvE is an acronym for player versus environment. In some MMOGs, massively multiplayer online games, you choose whether you would like to player on a server where players on a opposing faction are able to attack (and vice versa) while you are out questing. The servers that allow players of opposing factions to openly attack each other without declaring a duel are PvP servers. On PvE servers, players are only able to cooperate with each other even if an opposing faction and cannot attack each other without both players agreeing to a duel beforehand.

Massively multiplayer online games require heavy duty servers for the hyndreds of players in the same game, maintenance, and typically frequent updates. This is expensive. Companies offset the cost of these servers by one of two ways. The first is a subscription based service where after the intial purchase of the game and 1-3 months of play, the user pays a monthly fee which is typically around $15 a month. Free to play MMOs do not require a monthly fee and typically make their money by charging users for items or other bonuses. Some free to play MMOs don't even charge an initial upfront cost to buy/play the game such as Planetside 2. Defiance has no subscription fee, but there is a season pass available for purchase, which makes some of us wonder if we will see the frequent updates that are typically associated with MMOs or whether we will have to purchase the DLC and season pass to access additonal content.

DON'T DO IT. I'm an Xbox owner myself, but the developers diary on the official website is constantly stating biggest challenge the devs are addressing at this point is "Xbox Lag." They don't even discuss the PS3 as being a priority at the moment. I've purchased the title on PC with few issues.

Everyone here is misinformed. There are 4 types of ways to play Defiance. You'll begin the game by playing PVE and this is the primary way you'll gather your gear. By completing quest in PVE, you'll unlock 5 or so Co-op missions which are similar to instances in other games that I belive can be completed with up to four players. The third way you can play is match making, which is the same for every modern shooter. The 4th way is Shadow War. This is your PVP in an open world. Keep in mind, unlike other MMOs, you won't create on a PVE or PVP server. One character can switch between both servers. With that be said, the game is mostly PVE.

No. It's a $60 upfront fee. You can buy a DLC season pass for around $30-45. At this time the only thing you can really purchase through microtransactions are "bits" which from what I can tell can only be used to purchase lock boxes which give the player a chance at obtaining high level gear, but it's still random so there's no guarantee. These lockboxes can also be obtained by playing the game and participating in Arkfalls.

Hey Pecone_Penev,

I saw your post on the Far Cry 3 forums. We actually own very similar PCs. I have an AMD Phenom II x4 955, AMD Radeon HD 6800 series with 8GB RAM. So how well does Far Cry 3 run for you? What settings? How many hours do you have logged with game. This would greatly help me decide on whether to purchase the game or not. Thanks, Mace.

Hey bud, there are guest passes that come with each game. So first go to www.diablo3.com/guest. Then, creat a battle.net account or log in. Use the guest pass code. My guest pass code is c76vk9-8mbz-jb9bkz-h9vn-7kfx2e. Download the client. If somebody visits your topic and steals this guess pass before you get a chance to use it, privately message me and I'll send you another one, alright? Have fun with the game.

Skip to 1:04 if you don't want to watch the full cinematic.

Leah's soul was lost at the end of Act III when Adria used the Black Soul Stone to transfer the prime evils into Leah's body. Leahs body was destroyed at the beginning of Act IV in the cut scene I showed you by Imperius when Diablo/Legion/Prime Evils attempt to enter Heaven in Leah's body.

[QUOTE="Sentinel112"][QUOTE="bam925"]

[QUOTE="Sentinel112"]Both Witcher 2 and Diablo 3 have abysmal gameplay. Witcher 2 for being consolized garbage. Diablo 3 for offering retarded gaming. So then we take a peak at the graphics and story of both. Ok Witcher 2 wins. Both games belong in the gutter though. batosa1

If they both belong in the "gutter", than what games do you prefer instead?

Rome Total War, Jagged Alliance, Baldur's Gate 2, HoMM 3, Red Alert 2, Tiberian Sun, Divine Divinity, Nox, F.E.A.R. 1, Hard Reset, Max Payne 1, ... on the top of my head. I really don't like that many games since I am highly critical (about anything not only gaming).

It is just a bit strange that you go to game specific forums and criticise games you don't play. But whatever...

Agreed. Describing the Witcher and Diablo games as garbage goes way beyond being critical and into the realm of delusion. I love most the games you listed above, but can find flaws easily in each just by scratching the surface. Does that mean they're garbage? No. Example: Incredibly repetitive office environments in FEAR 1 were a flaw, but I still walked away from the game incredibly satisfied. I'd consider changing your perspective on how you judge games. After all, the only person missing out with you being so critical is you.

But Intelligence does affect DPS for the wizard and witch doctor....so I'd have to disagree with the DPS point for wizards and witch doctors.

First off, I did play Diablo I, but spent the majority of my middle school playing Diablo II since it made massive improvements over Diablo I. Secondly, calling people a "noob" doesn't exactly make you came off as the mature, Diablo I vet, and voice of reason. Third, if you honestly want to hear Jay Wilson's well reasoned argument on why skill points were removed, you can listen to it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVTVMqtmxPU. If you want to argue with his "philosophy" more power to you but his argument does make sense. If you want to continue to moan, please take it to your personal diary or blog so we can start discussing the game.
