I'm leaving the site

Well, after 147 days (303 including TVTome) and 2000 posts, I'm leaving this site, mainly for the reason that I think that I have spent too much time here. I might occasionally haunt the forums, and I will check my PMs, but that's all. If you're angry about this, just PM me as soon as possible, or comment here requesting a reassuring PM from yours truly. There is good news. You can always reach me on AIM, and I will be sticking around until the end of the Survivor game and Amazing Race game. You can PM me anytime you want, and I'll give my guide to the 8th caller. And it would be great if one of you could mention this in an Off Topic thread. Jmarsh89, logging out.

World Series Begins Tonight

And we have a great matchup. The Angels, Red Sox, and Braves having been eliminated, I'll be satisfied no matter what the result is. While the Astros have never been to the World Series, their drought is actually two years shorter than the White Sox, who have not won a World Series since 1917. Here are my predictions: Astros in 7. While both teams are evenly matched with their rotation, except for their 4th starter, Houston will probably lose when Backe pitches. This series has the potential to be a low scoring, small ball classic, but I think that in the end, the Astros have more experience, which I think will be the deciding factor. And personally, I'd rather have Roger Clemens, Andy Pettitte, Brad Lidge, or Roy Oswalt pitching out of the bullpen in game 7 than Mark Buehrle, Jose Contreras, Jon Garland, Freddy Garcia, or Bobby Jenks, purely because, while the Astros have not been to the Series, they have been far into the playoffs in these last few years. Also, going by past years, in each of the past four years, the wild card (in this case Houston,) has won, and in the last three years, the wild card has beaten the best team in the other league, i.e. Chicago. Also, since 2000, the AL has won in the even numbered years, while the NL has won in the odd numbered years. This is an odd numbered year, so... That being said, this is a very tough series to predict, because we are seeing very similar, old school teams. I look forward to this series. One more mini-rant: Paul Konerko should not have won the ALCS MVP. While they couldn't give it to one particular starter, I thought that Joe Crede was more deserving. Both had 2 home runs and 7 RBIs, but Crede hit about 80 points higher, and was also amazingly clutch in key situations (e.g. Game 2 and Game 5.) That's it.

Yankees, failing on revenge for 2002, eliminated

The Yankees, behind probably the worst clutch hitting by their so called stars in the entire season, have just been eliminated from the playoffs. I have nothing to say except for that their clutch hitting from their so-called power hitters (A-Rod, Matsui, Sheffield,) totally undermined whatever tiny chance they had after losing game 3. Some thoughts about the off season: They have to resign Chacon. He was amazing and so clutch. Also, the Yankees should let go of the aging Bernie Williams and go after Johnny Damon, arguably the best free agent on the market. On another note, I'll be wearing my Cardinal hat to school tomorrow and I'll be rooting for a White Sox-Cardinal World Series.

Top Ten Reasons Why I Love Off-Topic:

Remember to comment on the one below, but here are the top 10 reasons I love the Off Topic board: 10. Whatever I say, no one can understand it. 9. Woohoo! Boston Lost!

The Red Sux just got swept 3-0! One of my favorite ex-Yankees Orlando Hernandez pitched three great innings, and did not allow any runs at all when he came in with bases loaded and no outs. Boston's usurpation as World Champions is over and will soon go back to the rightful owners, the Yankees.

Jmarsh89, You're Team Number 2!

Well, as we all know, 2 comes right after 1, and I am pleased to announce that I finished second in the TV.com Amazing Race Forum Game, despite an average placing of 2.33 on the 9 legs. I would like to take this moment to congratulate the winner TV_Super-Freak, and to announce that I will be back for season 2:). I'd like to thank all of my competitors for making this game even more fun, as to Gladysthegreat, who hosted the game. And now, here's a list of the second place finishers on the real life show, as I'm now in their company (Thanks to Super-Freak for the idea:)) TAR1: Frank/Margarita - A very good, consistent team. They and Rob/Brennan fought it hard up to the very end. I didn't like them at first, but as the race progressed, they began to grow on me. However, Rob/Brennan were the better team, and deserved to win. TAR2: Tara/Wil - The first truly dominant team. I hated them, but they were the top team, and while I disliked the far less-skilled Chris/Alex, I was pleased to see this team lose. TAR3: Teri/Ian - I didn't like these ones at all. They were weak and, until the Vietnam legs, very mean and spiteful to eachother. TAR4: Kelly/Jon - My least favorite team of the season. Did not dominate and only finished first once. It was so satisfying for me to see Reichen/Chip beat them after Jon kept making disparaging remarks about them. TAR5: Colin/Christie - Even though I hated them, they deserved to win. They had a record six first place finishes, and if not for a delayed flight, would have won. After Rob/Amber, they were the most dominant team in the show's history. TAR6: Kris/Jon - A very sweet couple who, despite their cute exterior, had 4 first place finishes and were one of two teams never to finish below 4th place on any leg. They not only dominated the competition, but they were just great people too. TAR7: Rob/Amber - The best team in the show's history. I did not like them at first, but as I realized that they were playing the game well, I started to like them. They were even better than Colin/Christie and would have won if that airplane hadn't returned to the gate. While I liked Uchenna/Joyce and wanted them to win, no one can deny that Rob/Amber deserved it more. TAR Forum: Jmarsh89 - A very strong team. He played the game right, and despite a sixth place finish in the fourth leg, dominated for most of the game. His average placing was 2.33, which was the highest in the game. Overall, I'm proud to be in the second place group. There are a lot of teams here who should have won, the obvious exeptions being Teri/Ian, Kelly/Jon, and, to some extent, Frank/Margarita. However, it feels great to be in the same breath of Rob/Amber, Kris/Jon, and Colin/Christie, the three strongest teams ever.

Bad Warped Beliefs News

As you all have noticed, I haven't done a warped belief in a while. Why? Well, thanks to those jerks...I mean wonderful people at the network, I was told that I had to dumb down everything to the lowest common denominator. I was told that I either had the choice of being cancelled or writing about who would win a battle between Inuyasha and Teen Titans. Therefore, I regret to inform you even though Warped Beliefs is not cancelled yet, it is unavailable in my blog. This means that I will nominate midwestrocker, chrisbd1, danasdude, eatcacti, and HelloStuart to a showdown over who has the rights to write the next beliefs.
