“Buy and trade items -before- the game launches.”

No thanks.

@silv3rst0rm: No thanks. I don’t see Remedy going woke. They haven’t yet.

That’s a very short list of new features. I loved SE2-4, so I’ll be trying this day one, but it almost sounds forced and will be loaded with micro transactions I’m sure. Thankfully it will be on game pass, so I’ll try it there before I buy. I’m looking forward to it nonetheless.

The game looks extremely cringeworthy. This one must be for the kids. I’ll pass.

@xnshd: Yeah, it’s a bit odd that the PS5 version can’t reach 4k60, when it currently plays at 1440p60 via backwards compatibility. They haven’t mentioned any details about what they’ve actually remastered, which is sketchy. It doesn’t sound like a remaster at all, just a resolution increase. I think I’ll wait for the PC version.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the first game, but it was enjoyable and this sequel looks to make things far better and more fun than before. I smell GOTY. I don’t see any other game on the horizon that looks to compete. Maybe Starfield.

This is why the developers should always get the final say. Only they know what’s best for the game. All corporate does is come in, make unfair demands, force time constraints, force cuts to be made and quite literally force the end product to be inferior to what the developers stand for, making the devs look bad, simply because the big wigs are impatient and greedy. I’ve seen it and lived it time and time again in my own life. It’s an issue that will never go away and will likely only get worse, as we see with a ton of games these days and that’s sad to see. I’m glad to see Microsoft own up to it, that’s a rare case.

This is also why live service games are taking over. Because they can release an unfinished and unoptimized product, filled with micro transactions and battle passes to rake in money, while they let you beta test the game.

@tbird7586: You named the worst Sony exclusives (story wise), but even those trump Xbox exclusives in terms of story delivery and atmosphere. Microsoft still mostly makes Gears of War, Halo and Forza as their AAA titles. Not much else. They also don’t veer off the path of child friendly games. Microsoft really doesn’t have much of anything else worth mentioning. Sony has a ton of new IPs and creativity on their side. That’s why Microsoft has been so busy buying well-known studios. So they can make those games exclusives, rather than coming up with anything new or on their own. They still won’t have many new IPs, just more sequels and reboots.
