Just got Journey and Flower and I am absolutely floored. Never have I been more enchanted by any video game. Gayness aside, I'm hungry for more and would like to ask if anyone could suggest similar games? I'm looking for games that are thoroughly unique with their stunning overral presentation (great visuals, story, music, etc) and creative and interesting gameplay.

Several similar games come to mind such as Braid and Limbo but I'm unsure about how emotionally satisfying they really are. Haven't played Braid yet, but the Limbo demo seemed pretty good. I might get it someday, but it didn't wow me like the other games. I also really want to play Dear Esther but I don't have a gaming PC. (SOMEBODY PLEASE PORT THE GAME!) I've also played some other games that are somewhat similar such as Heavy Rain and Alan Wake. These two games were my top favorite before I played thatgamecompany's games. They were the most emotionally gratifying games I've ever played, up until then. Speaking of thatgamecompany, how does Flow compare to the other two? I've only played the original flash game, and it seems pretty good, but it does not seem to be at all similar to the other two games. It doesn't seem to have the heart and sould that the others have. Still, I might be interested in getting it. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Hi, I would like to interject If I may. I'm a console gamer and I resent nearly everything you guys are saying. I do not understand whatsoever why it is okay to make generalizations and assumptions about console gamers. It makes absolutely no sense to me. Since when does a gamer's gaming platform dictate what type of gamer he or she is?

Anyway, I didn't post to defend console gamers, I just wanted to say that I really really hope that Dear Esther gets ported to consoles. I really want to play it, but don't have a suitable pc. I think it would sell very well, games like Limbo and Journey are some of the best-selling downloadable titles of all time with Journey being the fastest selling PSN game of all time. The fact is, there are console gamers who aren't pc gamers for a reason (like, not having a suitable PC and not willing to buy one). I hope someone out there will at least consider porting Dear Esther. Thanks.

Are you talking about the button in the front that turns the PS3 on, or are you talking about the switch in the back that cuts power to the unit? If the latter I'd suggest not doing that. It's kida like abruptly pulling the power cord to your computer from the wall outlet without shutting the computer down first. If your PS3 freezes just push and hold on the front button for a few seconds until it beeps. This should safely shut down the PS3.

This right here. Don't flick that switch at the back. I've heard that can lead to bad news.

Slims don't have that power switch.

Thank you for actually reading my post.

i've got a 320gb ps3 slim and a bad internet connection. Often times, when playing online, my ps3 freezes whenever the internet gets disconnected. I usually wait for about 15 minutes or so but about 80% of the time, the game doesn't unfreeze so I have to turn it off with the power button, then I turn it on again after about another 15 minutes. One time, when I turned it back on, there was a message that said "The PS3 system was not turned off properly." Since my connection is so crappy, there are days when the ps3 gets disconnected several times in a row, forcing me to turn off my ps3 with the power button and turning back on over and over again, and I'm thinking, this can't be good for the system. Is it really that bad if Ithis keeps on happening? Should I just stop playing online until my connection gets better? Is there a safer way to turn off the ps3? The only other choice seems to be just disconnecting the power cord. By the way, the game that caused me to post this thread was DC Universe Online. So, if you suggest ejecting the disc when it freezes, that wouldn't help me because i downloaded DCUO off of PSN.

RED RING OF DEATH

I just turned on my xbox and to my horror, i found three flashing lights that seemed to flash right into the very depths of my soul. I googled the image of the Red Ring of Death and it looked just like it. I searched for some help and followed the advice here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/907534 I disconnected and connected the power like it said because the light on my adapter was orange (curiously and on a side note, it has always been orange and i never realized that it was supposed to be green, should I be alarmed about this?) When I turned it on, I felt an angelic grace caress me as I witnessed my Xbox come back to life as if nothing had happened. Was this just a one time thing? Should I be alarmed? What can I do to prevent this from happening again?

Some facts:

It's a Xbox360 arcade with a 60GB hard drive, I bought it exactly one year ago and it's from the US and I used to play it a lot but haven't lately. I actually haven't played it in a few weeks. But when I used to play it, I would play for about 5-6 hours before letting it rest and cool down for an hour or so and I always made sure it was in a well-ventilated room. But I did mistakingly put it in a somewhat confined space sometimes (to be specific, I put it in between the TV and the wall of the entertainment system whenever I played in the living room which wasn't that often.) And I've never really had any serious or remarkable problems with my Xbox except for the occasional freezing.

i just bought a ps3 and tried playing on the regular av cable and it sucked. i don't actually have an hdtv it's a sony projection tv wega kp-fx432 kp-fx532 (that's what it says on the manual cover) but i think it has hd capabilities. it has the input for an component av cable so i bought that and it works so far and the picture looks better, but not that much better and it also looks a little blurry and some parts have a weird ghost rainbow effect.

what settings should I have for the game settings and display settings? i currently have the video output settings set to component/d-terminal- 720p and 1080i. I'm wondering about the ps upscaler, ps smoothing in the game settings and the cross color reduction filter, rgb full range, y pb/cb pr/cr super-white, deep color output settings. I don't know what to do with those. Can someone help me out? I don't know what to write down about the specifications of the TV, there's a long list of stuff here but I don't know what you would need to know.
