I thought this was a great read, and interesting to find out how a true gaming pioneer felt about the gaming industry. I totally agree with John's views on FPS's. The controls really can be a tricky and frustrating thing to master. I don't care if you have nerves of steel and think you're the best gamer out there; you're gonna mess up, and chances are it's because of some missed button at the perfect time. The industry needs to keep pushing the envelope on gaming controls; such as Nintendo and Wii.
Seems like sony is stealing the show w/maybe the 360 a minor highlight. What about Nintendo? Two Wii games and one DS? I know that Wii should be pushing this showcase more, don't you think?
There are a lot of positive comments on this article and it goes to show that it is a great topic. Maybe it could be made into a special weekly forum and have some updated great games and their system requirements, so everyone who wants to get a great, not so recent and demanding game can get some great ideas! I used "great" too much. Sorry.,anyway "great" article.
This article posed the question,"How good will Wii be?" I've gotta tell you guys and girls, this system is going to be an awesome experience. The controller set up alone is what I really can't wait for. Come on, how many times since you started playing games do you remember how you would twist your body and controller, or smash the buttons harder because you were in an intense moment? The Wii controller system is incorporating that intenseness into it. I think Nintendo is moving in the right direction to really change the experience of gaming.
